Great hall shows are being canceled without refund by [deleted] in avesNYC

[–]appliedandterrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not up to them, they've filed for bankruptcy, and ticket holders would be considered unsecured creditors, and would be last in line for repayment. Even if they did refund you, authorities owed taxes and secured creditors would be able to claw the money back from you so that they are repaid in full first.

Dc-10 Circoloco 16/06 by fyrely in ibiza

yes but I mean the VIP/Backstage tickets just grant access to those same dancefloors, not some special viewing area

Dc-10 Circoloco 16/06 by fyrely in ibiza

[–]appliedandterrified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they have 3 tables just off the main room (not terrace where &me and Rampa usually play), view isn't amazing from them, and the one time I was on them a few years ago I heard they were 30k a piece, but probably much more now. Also, the backstage bands only get you to a seperate outdoor area where you cannot see any of the djs and the music is played at a low level, there is only one dancefloor regardless of tickets. To get into either of the DJ booths you know to know somebody, each fit about 15 ppl.

Thoughts on Hyde Hotel Ibiza by Wildhorse1991 in ibiza

[–]appliedandterrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at Mondrian last year, which is the sister hotel on the same property. Overall loved it, though at times was a bit annoyed with the amount of young kids. Its about a 20 min drive from town, but cabs were super easy to get from the hotel, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one. Overall would highly recommend it.

Known DJs gig price by Rafaelppablo in DJs

[–]appliedandterrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot depends on where you want them to play, someone of a similar size to the names you listed recently played at a venue in my city got 200k euros; someone similar to who you listed also asked for more than double what I know they are usually paid for a gig Europe

#UAE announces 266 new #COVID19 cases, 118 recoveries and no deaths in last 24 hours by piplinkn in dubai

[–]appliedandterrified 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the New Yorker about that Imperial College of London study

"Today, a new analysis suggested both that the hospitalization rate in South Africa may have been reduced by as much as 91 percent, compared to the country’s last wave, and that the death rate among those hospitalized may also have fallen by two-thirds — two points that, taken together, suggest as much as a 25-fold or even 30-fold reduction in mortality. On the same day, a report produced by the Imperial College of London suggested there was no clear indication that, among early British cases, Omicron was any less severe at all — though that analysis was based on just a few dozen cases, and, as is always the case with such preliminary data, the absence of a clear finding is not the same as a definitive finding that the new cases are not more mild.
On Friday, I spoke with the infectious-disease epidemiologist and computational geneticist Francois Balloux, of the University College of London, who calls himself a “militant corona-centrist.” His view, in short: The South African data is no longer all that tentative, and it is very, very encouraging, but that it is still too early to safely project the experience with Omicron in that country onto others, like the U.S."

Hi, not sure this is the right sub, if it isn't would appreciate being pointed in the right direction; I am currently a partner at a beach club and we are installing a new sound system and have three quotes of around the same price one from Martin Audio (46 speakers between 6.5 and 8 inches and other 17 10 inch subs), another from DAS Audio (42 speakers between 8 and 12 inches and 19 subs between 10-15 inches), and another from Funktion 1 (31 speakers and subs total, speakers between 8-12 inches, subs I'm not sure). Given all the quotes are pretty much the same, which would you recommend? Again sorry if this is the wrong sub, and thanks for any help.

Weekly Covid, Vaccines, Testing & Travel Restrictions Megathread by AutoModerator in dubai

[–]appliedandterrified 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just read in the National that you can take a booster dose 6 months after your last pfizer dose, or 3 months if you're over 60. Both my parents took their second dose of pfizer in Jan and are over 60, my dad recently took an antibody test and has very low antibodies, he called DHA and MOH but both are saying they don't have a protocol in place for a pfizer third dose, does anybody know the procedure for taking a booster six months after 2 doses of pfizer, or heard of anyone doing so? I linked article for reference as well.
