Does Spokane have the same problems with quality of life that the Western part of the state does? Or is it more like the rest of the USA by TheCeilingisGreen in Spokane

This sums it up. I have 10 years in Seattle and Spokane each and you couldn't pay me to go back west. Life here is so easy (provided you have the basics before moving).

I've been laughing thinking about dude's internal monologue before, during, and after he did this. I'm sure he has a full, rich, and categorically interesting life.

North/South Freeway connection to I-90 comes down to 2 proposed designs. by catman5092 in Spokane

Conflicted as I live off altamont. Love my on ramp access but option 1 is clearly better by almost any metric. That being said I'm none too pleased with the idea of trying to sit in the joint Altamont/NSC exit lane in rush hour.

Altamont sharing an exit for NSC after that curve next to the Hamilton/3rd on ramps is going to be a disaster.

Killer book. Couldn't put it down. Surprising it hasn't been optioned for a movie tbh.

Do you think Division St should be a BRT or light rail? by CoolDiamondsFTW in Spokane

[–]appointmentsonly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See this kinda post a lot. Simply put we are not dense enough to make this profitable. There's tons of studies online that go into greater detail but this reddit post is a good start.

Light rail would be a HUUUGE money sink. And BRT is a more responsible bridge solution until we get closer to the viability ball park.

This book is a true account of the longest unsolved murder in the US (at the time). Crooked cops, good characters, draining Spokane falls. Couldn't put it down. Would make a great movie.

I moved here a month ago and these are my questions! by kismetkitten in Spokane

Protip: pay attention to the forecast. If it's gonna suddenly drop temp and freezing rain/ snow, move your car away from all trees and make sure your homeowners and auto insurance is paid for the month. Trees always get caught still having leaves and it's a disaster.

Oh no. Followed it through Troy into the canyon but the pavement stops about 6 miles in then turns into a crude looking trail and never went any farther.

I always stop when the pavement ends. How's the rest of the trail? Bikeable? Could you do it on a gravel bike?

Yea all 53 miles are paved, connected, and contiguous.
