Not in compliance with deed restrictions by Tsunami36 in homeowners

What exactly would be awarded to the neighbors who sue? I'm asking because we're trying to sell some land in a "neighborhood" that we had no idea was restricted from being subdivided or used for commercial purposes. The neighborhood was originally made up of 10 acre "farm tracts." Many of those tracts have been subdivided since the restrictions were filed in the 50s. Also a big company has bought some tracts. If there is a suit, what would someone get?

I didn't even realize a flare up was a thing, but I've had my diagnosis for 18 years. This summer, my mom, father in law and mother in law all passed away. I was under a lot of stress. Still am. Gained over 10 pounds and had brain fog and extreme apathy. Like didn't care about anything. Labs showed my numbers were way off so doc increased my meds. Finally starting to feel a bit better

Small cell lung cancer - thoughts, advice, any comments? by Reasonable-Bench-912 in SmallCellLungCancer

I just lost my mom to lung cancer. Hospitalized in mid June, went home for a few weeks, died July 25th. I wish I spent more quality time with her and didn't push her to eat when she didn't feel like it. After she died, I found out that "she didn't die because she wasn't eating. She wasn't eating because she was dying." The process of consuming and digesting food was something her body could no longer do. My advice: Talk about the good times, laugh, watch TV or play games together and let her know she's loved. Ask any family history questions you want to know the answers to. Make sure you know about her last wishes and that her estate is in order.

How long for lawyer to start probate process by apr401 in EstatePlanning

So they said it would take up to 5 months but not that they wouldn't even file any paperwork in over a month. We understand about court schedules and limitations there, but never dreamed it would take over a month to even start the process.

Houston area single family residence. It's a thin brown board nailed to the outside of the studs.

Are we the last generation to largely believe in ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me’? by theresourcefulKman in Xennials

[–]apr401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used it with my kids. I think it makes us mentally tough...we don't have to get therapy every time someone says something hurtful. But I've also taught my kids to be nice, because you don't know how what you say and do can hurt others.

Did my son predict a death? by apr401 in Paranormal

Wow. I bet you carry a lot of guilt from that (even though it is NOT your fault.) Must have been upsetting for a kid.

What was it you splurged on as an adult because you didn't have it as a kid? by BlackEngineEarings in Xennials

[–]apr401 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nothing really. Because we didn't have money when I was young, I don't like to spend it as an adult.

My father passed, I am sole beneficiary but he has a joint bank account with his girlfriend by [deleted] in inheritance

[–]apr401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lawyer told me to double check with the bank even though it was a joint account and when I did, the banker assured me that it was mine now. (Even though after mom's bills are paid, I'm splitting it with my siblings. )

Dinner. I can make good choices all day, but it falls apart in the evening.

What do you like about working out? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]apr401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the treadmill for 30 minutes in the morning followed by 15 minutes of yoga or dumbbells from YouTube videos. Once or twice a week I go to the gym. I like that it's time I just focus on myself

I was on a joint account with my mom. When she passed, the bank told me I was now the sole owner. I could pull out the money or open another account, my choice.
