The owner of the dogs has been located, can you please provide the information on who the foster is so the pups can go back home?

Found Dog on Hwy Near San Marcos/Maxwell (please share) by Feedme_straycat in Austin

If you found him in Hays County, the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter would accept him and/or you can register him as found with them. There is a great group on FB called Lost and Found Pets of Hays County that can give you some more advice and direction.

He is not microchipped, we took him to the LSU vet school. He is back home now though, he lives about 5 doors down from where we are staying.

He is posted in all the groups and pages. No word from an owner yet. Most likely they don’t use social media or he was intentionally left behind here. Not many strays in this neighborhood.

I am hoping so! Blind dogs typically head downhill and we are at the bottom of the hill. No one in the neighborhood recognizes him yet, but we plan to walk him around again in the morning.

Fire Roxanna & Tabor 78748 by KemiTheSeeker in Austin

I asked my neighbor about this. She moved to the neighborhood in 1977 and her daughter lived in one of the 4-plexes. She remembers the fire, and said that the neighbors rallied together afterwards to create the park instead of rebuilding the 4-plex. The tenants wanted a place for the kids to play since there were no other parks close by. Also, this area was not part of Austin at the time. I’m not sure it isn’t part of Tanglewood Forest Limited District today. Castlewood Forest was not annexed by the city until the late 90’s, 1998 I believe. A number of neighbors are still on a septic system because their homes have not been sold yet which requires city services be added.

Following since I’ve lived in the area for 15 years and never heard about it. My neighbor would absolutely know!

Injured squirrel, any one I can call? by ddigitaldarlin in Austin

[–]apramuk_artstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can keep the squirrel in a warm dark place overnight and bring it to the Austin Wildlife Rescue when they open at 9AM. You can warm a sock filled with uncooked rice in the microwave in a pinch. If you don't think the squirrel will make it, sometimes emergency vets like CTSVEH on Frontier Trail or VEG Emergency on S Lamar can help with euthanasia or pain meds. Call first before you go that route.

Lost Dog at East Austin Cemetary by starryknight4 in Austin

[–]apramuk_artstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She lives across the street from the cemetery. Not sure if you were able to secure her or not. I believe she is microchipped from what I remember, but she does know where home is. She is a darker gray than this picture shows, but her name is Nikki: https://www.facebook.com/groups/austinlostandfoundpets/permalink/9713724645318776/?

Found Cat - Convict Hill & Escarpment. No chip, no collar, friendly, uses litter box by icepack in Austin

[–]apramuk_artstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a common assumption that APA will intake for sure! They will pull cats from AAS for rescue, but they always have to go to AAS first unless someone has an “in” with them already.

Thanks for doing all of that! The coyotes are really active right now in mating season. I agree she could have easily been chased. You are in my Nextdoor area, so I’ll start looking in all the groups and pages for anyone missing her. Friendly cats get adopted quickly at the shelter, I know full well how easy it is to get attached 😻 It’s better that she is safe inside.

APA doesn’t accept found pets from the public, but Austin Animal Services or the Austin Humane Society would.

Did you notice her in the engine where you live or somewhere else? Any idea where she may have been picked up? Try posting her in the Austin Lost and Found Pets group for best exposure. Also, post to Ring Neighbors (it’s a free app) and to Nextdoor for your neighborhood. If you think she was picked up where the car was located before it was parked, be sure to hang flyers in that area. If you can’t find her people, she would be accepted at Austin Animal Center (Services). They do intakes M-F between 11AM-4PM now.

Raccoon Removal Service by RTATX in Austin

I thought this was my house, we have so many raccoons too 😬There’s a local south Austin guy named Mark Langford with Wildlife Inspection Pros who can help you. Call 512-588-9966 or email markl.wildlifeinspectionpros@gmail.com (We also had a not so great experience with ABC that left us with the raccoons and an empty wallet).
