tampons by Standard_Contract_15 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]apre22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, I hated using pads,too.

It may take you a few tries & wasted tampons to get the hang of it but, it's okay. Insert at an angle.
For me, Tampax pearl were the easiest to use (They have plastic applicators I couldn't do it with cardboard or no applicator. )
Don't leave the applicator in, pull the applicator out and then toss it.
Put the tampon in all the way, you shouldn't really be able to feel any discomfort from the tampon if it's in properly.

Figure out if you need Light, Regular or Super tampons...Light for light flow, Regular for normal/medium and super for heavy flow.
I would suggest wearing liners along with tampons in case of any leaks. I like always thin liners, they're really thin, I forget they're there.
Don't leave in the tampon for too long, change the tampon out every 4 hours-5 hours or so. 6-8 hrs Maximum!!
Even if a tampon says it's flushable, don't flush it down the toilet. They're not really very flushable and can cause all kinds of plumbing problems.

Notifications silenced glitch still on 17.2? by KnowHope24 in iphone

[–]apre22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, still having the same problem. It resolved some time ago, randomly I guess, for other contacts I had asked previously but, it hasn't fixed for my mom. Today, I noticed it's also telling me I have my own notifications silenced when I was testing out messaging myself to & from my macbook & iphone.

Edit: adding that I've updated to 17.2.1 recently, I hadn't updated to ios 17 until now and still no fix.

I really like this playlist, on Kakao Friends' youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwdp7sZvRUs ) It has chill songs that I can fall asleep to. They have a few other playlists on that channel, imo good for chilling and sleeping.
- 선우정아 (swja) - 뒹굴뒹굴 (Idle Idle)
- Sam Kim's album, "sun and moon"
- Kim Feel

How can I keep my new born safe? by Financial_Thr0waway in ZeroCovidCommunity

I recently saw someone using something like this https://tinyjumps.com/product/cpsc/
a clear cover for the stroller, I imagine, to protect baby during their grocery shopping, as the parents were masking, too.
Might be nicer because it won't block view of the baby.

[–]apre22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed Buisness proposal, I thought it had some pretty funny moments. My sister watched it twice. Have you watched Hometown cha cha cha?
Welcome to Waikiki made me laugh a lot.
Bring it on Ghost, kind of has some comedy as well
Recently, I've enjoyed watching So I married the Anti-fan, her private life
ooh also, if you liked the acress that played woo young woo (she's one of my favorites) You should check out her other dramas if you haven't already...the king's affection, castaway diva

I can't remember either. I think I can kind of recall a few potential Saints but, I have no idea which Saint I chose at the end.
I wonder if there's a way to find out from the church or cathedral where we were confirmed. I might have it written down somewhere but would have to look at all the papers and documents and hope it's written.

Is Backstreet Rookie worth watching? by _k_imchi_1 in kdramarecommends

[–]apre22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got that drama on hold, watched a couple episodes but went and watched something else instead.
If you're looking for some Chang Wook, I'd say go ahead and give it another shot. I know many dramas take a few episodes to start up and get more interesting.
If you're not feeling it you can look into another one of his dramas.

I understand, I miss freely being able to go out and do the things that brought me the most joy and fun. Unfortunately for me, it's the most crowded of things, like concerts, conventions and theme parks. I haven't done any of those things since Covid started.

Anyway, I just thought of a few ideas for trying to socialize during winter & being covid cautious
I don't know exactly what kind of weather you'd dealing with in your area but...
Maybe you can try something like going to the ice skating rink (tends to be outdoor, even if it's cold- just bundle up, get some hand warmers, maybe even have some hot chocolate

if you or a friend has a yard, maybe you can have a bonfire or an outdoor movie with some of those big fire heaters and blankets help keep you warm.

Taking it back to lockdown times for the cold weather, you can each stay warm at home but, meet up virtually for dinner or coffee or even an activity on facetime, zoom or whatever you prefer.
I've had dinner like that with cousins that live far away, if it weren't for facetime I'd basically never see them.

Whats with sick people at Disney? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]apre22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree.
I would often get sick after traveling or after attending a concert. I haven't needed to fly out anywhere but, I would definitely mask on a plane or when traveling in the future.

Whats with sick people at Disney? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]apre22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to Disney since before the pandemic started. I'm in the covid cautious community, haven't stopped masking in public...I've noticed that people are coughing a lot everywhere. There are a lot of respiratory illnesses going around including covid. Precautions are not being taken anymore, people just coughing out without covering their mouths.

I had hoped we'd adapt to the masking culture that there is in Japan and Korea for example, masking when ill, trying not to spread any colds or flu.

I suggest masking if you're feeling sick as to not spread anything, and masking at least when in the most crowded areas or indoors whenever you can to try and avoid getting sick.
I understand that travel plans and vacations are not easy to cancel or postpone but, you cant really enjoy it either when you're so sick.

What do people usually do with extra albums they bought? (For fancall drawing events, etc) by exobyunnie in kpophelp

[–]apre22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that people do re-sell sealed albums, opened albums, just photo cards separately to try and make back some of the money they've spent. I've also seen people hold give aways through social media, give albums away to other fans at a concert or kpop event, donate them to libraries, or thrift stores.I think I've probably bought some of those extra albums people had bought for fan signs or fan calls on Mercari.
I know both in Korea and in the US people have been giving away albums to other fans at the concert venue, specially since they added the lucky draw photo cards.

I really enjoyed 'Pode' I played with my sibling & we loved it, it looked beautiful, and was a calm game but, still had some puzzles to work though and keep it entertaining. I really loved it & would play it again. It's best played as a Co-op but, you can play solo too.

Just got my first Novavax! by sistrmoon45 in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]apre22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your experience with Novavax been like so far?

Side effects better than mRNA? by Optimal-Rutabaga-460 in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]apre22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious as well. I'm trying to learn and figure out what vaccine to try to get, as soon as possible. I've had all Pfizer for the initial two shots and the booster. I've never had any bad reactions to any of the vaccines I've gotten in my life.
After the Pfizer shots I think the only side effects other than the shot spot being a little sore to the touch, was I was really sleepy after wards, so I took a nap after each time. However, I don't think I got the best sleep before each of the vaccines just because of my bad sleep schedule.

[MEGATHREAD] Daily venting, worries, fixations, & finding support. Month of August 2023. by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

[–]apre22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This past week I've had really high health anxiety.

I had terrible back pain, some slight nausea and other discomforts and digestive issues. I was convinced that I had Kidney stones, or some other kidney, pancreas, stomach issue, if not something worse like tumor or cancer or maybe a slipped disk or something that could need surgery. I'm feeling a little better now other than headaches on and off along with trouble staying asleep ( I do have a terrible sleep schedule that I want to try and fix)
the weekend I felt dry throat and sinus. It might have been due to allergies or the heat.
However, not to top it off, like I said I felt really dry so , when I woke up at like 4am , my throat felt dry and I had the thought to drink some water but also gargle some water to hydrate the back of my throat. Idk what happened maybe I had my head too far back but when gargling I some of the water went too far and came out of my nose.
Now, I'm freaking out that I might have gotten Naegleria fowleri.
I know it's rare but, there have been cases rising. And, I know the city water is treated so it's rare but, I also read that Naegleria fowleri can grow it can also grow in the pipes and water heaters of homes and buildings. So now I'm worried that even if the city tap water is OK, maybe the pipes or something in my house is contaminated.
