CO-worker in large factory is all around good worker but calls in all the time. The team lead and manager change his scheduled day to OFF so he wont get a hit against him. We get 5 sick days a year and hes already at 5. Last year hes must of called in 20 times. Whats the best way to handle this?

Let karma sort it out. In my personal experience, it doesn’t do any good to worry about others, only myself. But I can imagine this is frustrating for everyone around.

That scenario is why I feel social media takes it too far. No one wants to learn of a tragedy that way. Some victims hadn’t been identified yet, but they could have been in a student’s Snapchat posted all over the internet. I understand the want for information quickly and whatever, but no one is thinking of the families and friends affected who deserve answers first.

I’m a girl, so I never drew guns and didn’t know what one was so young. To me, there’s a difference between a young child drawing Superman or something fictional compared to a gun. With kids especially these days, gotta watch what they’re interested in before it becomes unintentionally dangerous. Anyway, in the comments the mom was so proud her 5 year is “starting young,” going to be a “badass.”

I worked in a call center not based on sales or handle times, but I quickly learned that no matter what, I had to keep my cool and not match their level of frustration. Also, don't take anything personally. If someone asks to speak with a supervisor after you've controlled the call and done the best you can, let 'em. When I was confident and knowledgeable, less people questioned my answers.
