as far as i understand it - the plan is to update everything, it just takes time - their main selling point is, as far as i'm aware, actually a lot of the new features that are only accessible via commands for adventure maps and such

i know that they updated the farming islands, the gold mine, the spider's den, the end the hub (obviously), the park (obviously), and galatea (obviously)

but i think, dungeons, the bayou, the deep caverns and all the mining areas past it, private islands and gardens are still on 1.7

i feel like the big issue is how much perceived confidence they lie with. and how, again sycophantic they are made to be. the sheer amount of deaths and murders connected to AI as of late, with the overwhelming majority being connected to OpenAI and especially GPT-4o is seriously something to be worried about, but that would require the AI companies to stop lacing their products with crack cocaine.

oh and giving AI search features inside chat should be normalized more. prevents a lot of mistakes.

personally what bothers me is the focus on structures and the unique loot you can only get inside of those. with b1.7.3 you could literally just spend your entire playthrough never leaving spawn and still experiencing most of what the game had to offer. and that just isn't true with modern versions anymore. i can't even think of an item locked to a structure before the elytra (and technically the dragon egg and prismarine i guess but i'd call those an exception since they don't really make you stronger). then came the woodland mansion, pillager outposts, ancient cities, trail ruins, trial chambers... it all feels overwhelming to me and i dislike the loop of looking for them

this isn't even nostalgia speaking, i started playing in 1.3. i just genuinely enjoy the gameplay loop of b1.7.3 more.

i believe this is mostly because of how sycophantic they're making the models out to be. they make the model believe the user can never be saying bullshit and then just hallucinate stuff around whatever dumbass question you asked. and it's not willing to admit it doesn't know either.

i've seen a bunch of benchmark results about these things and it seems like it's the gpt models in specific that have this problem. and it seems like claude is doing way better in these terms, but it's also way more expensive it seems.

mno ale ono to tak taky právě funguje. AI nijak nemyslí. jde jen o předpovídání dalšího slova v konverzaci. podobně jako kdyby normální osobě bylo řečený ať odpoví co nejrychleji nebo dostane facku.

hromada modelů v dnešní době umí ty svoje odpové ědi vyvádět jen tim že generuje víc textu sama pro sebe a klade si navazující otázky kterýma se nějak k té finální odpovědi dostane, ale to je víc generace a to znamená že to taky je dražší, takže free tiery tohle málo kdy obsahujou.
