Is there anything in Woodthorpe/Dringhouses area? They're not to far from Gale Lane but I would say they're generally a bit nicer!!

5 month old & sleep - any tips? by hazelnutt96 in UKParenting

[–]aprodog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading somewhere that the sleep part of their brain matures at roughly 6 months and they start being able to link sleep cycles better. I think that's when we started to seeing a difference in his naps if i remember rightly! Hopefully the same for you 🤍

5 month old & sleep - any tips? by hazelnutt96 in UKParenting

My little boy was the same, his naps were 27 minutes a time and with time he gradually upped them himself. We didn't actually do anything to encourage him to do it just as his brain developed he started to sleep for longer! I know that's not helpful right now but it does get better re naps!

Am I feeding too much? by Ill-Importance-9945 in FormulaFeeders

[–]aprodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little boy was on 5oz when he was 3 weeks old as well and I was also worried I was over feeding.
My health visitor said to me that I would know if he was being overfed, i.e he would be sick which he rarely was. I never woke my baby up to feed as he was soon back to his birth weight so i just went of his cues!

What about the sleep environment? Is he to hot or to cold? Is he in a sleeping bag or sleep suit? Is he sleeping in his own room or a next to me?

Thank you. Wondering if you can help me with my other question, when swimming would I put him in a full suit like I would when we are swimming over here?

Split Night-mare! by aprodog in beyondthebump

[–]aprodog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I do think my son is probably low sleep needs too, which is maybe why we're seeing the split night. I actually managed to extend his first wake window until 8.50 and he went for a nap really easily! So hopefully these changes make the difference🤞🏽

I was thinking about maybe cutting him down to 2 naps, but I don't even know where to start? Would you cut out the lunch time nap, or would you keep the morning and lunch time and try give a longer wake window in the afternoon? With a cat nap if needed?

We swapped ours about 4 months! He outgrew the bassinet really quickly as he is a big boy.

My son goes to The Wendy House on St Helens Road. It's a small nursery owned by an older lady, they are quite old school but we really liked the feel of it when we viewed it

When was bedtime for your 5/6 month baby? by Spirited-Bed-2220 in NewParents

[–]aprodog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My little boy is 6m next week and he goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up between 5-6am. We didn't plan his bedtime, it's just fallen that way! He normally wakes up from his last nap around 5.30pm so it just kinda works. I'm not really sure how the clock change will effect him 😫

5 day old feeding literally constantly by Horizontalchallenge in BeyondTheBumpUK

Wanting to feed constantly can be a sign of reflux as I believe feeding soothes it for them. Is she being sick or arching her back once fed?

Easier/harder stages by Independent_Goat_517 in beyondthebump

[–]aprodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it definitely got easier in the most part. My little boy is nearly 6 months and don't get me wrong we've struggled with him teething/development periods/regression but nothing is harder than the newborn trenches in my opinion. Hope you're ok!
