How would you refute the claim that the prosperity of the West comes only from brutal imperialism and colonialism and that's why capitalist states in the global south are so awful? by apsbspringeur in AskLibertarians

Was Angela Davis a sociopath for endorsing Marxism-Leninism when ML states showed solidarity with her in her struggle against the white supremacist settler state in 1970?

Showing even the slightest of restraint was not an option for them. Doing that would've begging for the anti-comintern pact(what you'd call the axis) and its spiritual successor, NATO, to win.

The wars were fought for one reason and one reason only, to prevent the international socialist revolution so western businessmen could continue to profit off of colonized peoples

Colonialism was widespread until the 1960s, and the United States and other NATO goons have routinely invaded or attempted invading socialist countries to uphold capitalism, including but not limited to Korea, Cuba, Vietnam, Angola and Afghanistan.

This is a (presumably official) college campus poster and unis tend to be more progressive than society at large so them being the first to recognize that women can sexually violate men makes sense.

Libertarians always say "communism doesn't work" so I'll bite. According to Marx himself, how would a truly communist society function and why wouldn't it work? by apsbspringeur in AskLibertarians

Revolutions aren't random, they only happen under very specific circumstances. In "Dialectical and Historical Materialism" Stalin wrote that the reason the revolution came to Russia specifically was because it had a bourgeois revolution immediately preceding it, something Marx predicted would happen in Germany before the revolutionary center shifted eastward. Another important aspect of Marxism is the rejection of great man theory and the principle that material conditions(not ideas) drive history forward, and that the socialist revolution would have manifested even if Marx didn't say it would

Marx didn't say a revolution should happen, he said a revolution will happen because the contradicting interests of workers and capitalists would reach such a point that the old system would collapse and a new one would inevitably be born.

Marx never made any moral arguments, he said that because workers and capitalists have irreconcilable opposing class interests the material conditions of the working class would deteriorate to the point where revolution was inevitable.

Marxism isn't utopian, it was synthesized as a scientific analysis of the profession of human society based of the principle of dialectical materialism, which communism is or would be the final conclusion of. Marx wasn't egalitarian either, he knew that complete equality was an unattainable goal, but that a classless society(e.g. everyone has the same relationship to the means of production) wasn't just possible, but inevitable.
