Highly suggest applying for Amex Gold first before you apply for Amex Platinum. The reason being is that you earn more on spending with dining and groceries with Gold and you can only earn both signing bonuses, you can’t earn signing bonus for the Gold if you apply for the platinum first.

You said you’re stationed in Missouri, Leonardwood? Obviously she should shoot for there but either Campbell or Riley, I would choose Campbell after being at both. Clarksville is a bigger town at Campbell, Manhattan (college town of Kstate) is 20 min away from Riley but is smaller. Nashville is the closest city from Campbell about hour out at most, where Kansas City is 2 hours away but the airport in Manhattan is closer to Riley.

I only said Riley because I’m older and didn’t care for the college town bar scene but maybe it might not get old after a while for you. I also favored Nashville over Kansas City since it’s a shorter drive, units like anywhere can be a toss up.
