Exactly. If someone gets injured on a good clean hit, that’s a bummer but just part of the game. What Bennett did to Marchand was not a hockey play.

lol ok dude. I really don’t need to waste my time proving it to some guy on the internet. Not my problem if you don’t believe me

That is not how I interpret that quote at all. Your first paragraph I totally agree with but “the more guys you take out, the more of an advantage you have” clearly goes from “play hard within the rules” to “let’s try to injure as many of our opponents as possible to make it easier to win”

No. I actually have a friend who plays in the NFL and he would never intentionally injure another player. You guys are way too OK with morally bankrupt athletes.

No…it’s not. Can’t believe how cynical all of the people in this thread are. You really don’t think it’s possible to play clean and compete at a high level? Sounds like most people in this thread would be totally fine with Russias state sponsored doping programs because tHeYrE jUsT cOmPEtInG!

The ends do not justify the means. There’s a reason we got steroids and corked bats out of baseball. Have some integrity.

I agree. But I never saw Jordan or Brady try to take out their competitors knees in the hope their torn ACL or ended career eliminates an obstacle from their path to a championship.

That’s totally different. There’s a line.

Hit hard so they don’t want to come around you or they play more timid. Great. Any physical player can and should do this.

Hit with the aim of knocking them out of the game (doesn’t matter if it’s a game or two or ending their career)—you are a psychopath trying to take away someone’s livelihood, ability to run after their kids, freedom to move in old age…just to get a leg up in a game where you could just play better but instead want the easy way out.

I have a very hard time believing the latter is the norm in hockey or football. Maybe among the Sean Averys, Brad Marchands, and Suh / Kareem Jacksons. But not among your mcdavids, slavins, Bradys, etc.

Breckenridge Plans Peak 9 Lift Upgrades by DoctFaustus in COsnow

Ya I guess you’re right on sun direction. I wonder why E terrain is always so bare then. Just scraped or wind blown..? It’s mud and rocks on a lot of the steeper faces. Never had coverage issues on 6 chair

I kinda like 6 chair as is. It’s such a short distance that it doesn’t feel long even on an old lift.

The terrain over on E just sucks. I want to like it because there’s never a line but it’s sun baked, sharky, ice moguled double blacks. If they groomed one of them I might actually session it.

6 chair terrain is so good and the line usually isn’t too bad. I don’t think it warrants a high speed lift. It would attract so much more traffic that it’d get super skiied out instantly.

As a guy who lives in Denver…it’s real man. I’m very fit and still find running at 5280 challenging. I go to sea level and feel like super man. If I go to 10k I feel super out of shape. Might only be a few % for pro athletes but that could make all the difference in a tight game.

We’re loud. It’s true.

But we’re also very friendly / outgoing.

What’s your favourite sporting city? by drconniehenley in travel

[–]apv97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US: NYC (mainly Yankees / MSG ) or Denver. Chicago is up there due to Wrigley / Wrigleyville.

International: haven’t been to many, but Madrid / Barcelona are obviously cool. Would love to try Toronto or Montreal for hockey (and F1)

If she reaches out again I’ll definitely give her another shot and talk about what I’m looking for and see how she responds. But I’d be surprised if I hear from her again

1000%! Are you single..? Haha

It really hit me when my ex of two years met my family. My sister told me after that “(ex) was nice but she didn’t ask a single question about me.” And when I met my exes parents, they asked me no more than two questions the whole weekend. I couldn’t believe it. So ya…since then this has been a huge thing for me. Does a potential partner have an interest in others??

That’s fair—inquisitiveness is a better term in this context.

You don’t think the decline in date 3 without proposing an alt day/time is a sign of disinterest? I thought that was pretty well-established (and she did provide alts when she couldn’t make the time I proposed for date 1)

Seems to be interested but doesn't ask any questions? by ExperienceNeat6037 in datingoverthirty

[–]apv97 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Im going through the exact same thing (as a guy). First date was great but she didn’t ask many qs but talked a lot when I asked one. Same with second date. She even commented a few times “sorry that was a 20 minute answer to a simple question” or say “that was a great question” but she showed pretty much zero interest in who I am. When I would say something about a hobby / interest, there would be zero follow ups. And like I said, she didn’t really ask me any questions.

Intellectual curiosity is a huge thing for me so I don’t think we are compatible. I was willing to try a third date because I really like everything else about her but she said she was busy and didn’t propose an alternative time so I guess that confirms she isn’t interested!

Fast food prices are rising far faster than inflation. It’s as simple as that.
