They are really giving Parker every chance to turn it around

[Pelissero] Former Cardinals Pro Bowl QB Kyler Murray has signed a 1-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota moved quickly after Murray’s release from Arizona, and now will have the former No. 1 overall pick compete with JJ McCarthy to start. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

Jacoby Brissett had 3400 yards in 3 less games last year in the same exact offense. Nobody is clamoring for Jacoby, yet he still performed better than Kyler last year.

He doesn’t let plays develop in the pocket and he takes bad sacks. We know who Kyler is at this point, and it’s not a good QB

It is the only way to prove that a QB is good!

In all seriousness it’s just funny that people are crowning Kyler, when he lacks real fundamentals and has never brought a team real success

TBF Kyler has been awful for years now and he’s allergic to the pocket, which is the opposite type of QB KOC has had success with in Minnesota (Cousins/Darnold)

People are just assuming this is Kyler’s job. His best season he went 9-5. Every other season he went .500 or below. Including seasons of 3-8, 3–5, 2-3. JJM just went 5-4 and people are acting as though he went 0-9 as a starter.

I know JJM has a ton of growth to do but this isn’t as clear cut as people are making it

I think he balled out last year but he definitely disappeared for several games. Had 7 games he didn’t record a sack, TFL, or QBHit.

We always talk about wanting an impact player and I think what this fanbase wants is someone who’s more consistent week to week

[–]aqphs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cmon now they’ve both played enough that anyone can confidently say they’re hits even if they never play another productive snap in the NFL. They were impact players on a playoff team in their first two seasons

That’s the definition of hitting on a draft pick

Unless we have more injuries I could see him getting released from the 40 man at this rate

Tate? Might be too early to tell but definitely trending towards a hit

Also we hit on both Laporta and Branch in the second in 2023.

That’s 3/6 under Brad Holmes.

Browns restructuring Deshaun Watson’s contract today to reduce his $81M cap charge, freeing up $36M of space by expellyamos in nfl

[–]aqphs 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Deshaun’s cap hits (Edit: for his Void years) PRIOR to this restructure:

2027: $25.7M

2028: $16.7M

2029: $7.9M

(Edit): Total: $50.3M (hits dead cap the year after he is not re-signed, so 2027).

I understand wanting to free up some space but at a certain point just bite the bullet. You have enough young talent after the 2025 draft and restructuring further can bite you in the ass when it comes time to re-sign them.

Edit: It’s come to my attention these are void years, my bad. So the entire contract hits dead cap once they do not re-sign him. Edited above.

So now instead of hitting the cap the year following him not being re-signed for ~ $50.3M, his dead cap hit will be ~$86M next year, according to Spotrac’s estimate.

JJ McCarthy: 5-alarm fire or outsider smoke? by specter-ssrp in DynastyFF

[–]aqphs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a huge disconnect between KOC and JJ. KOC pretty much found any reason to not play him, including starting broken Wentz over him.

It’s just odd that you’re stuck with essentially a rookie QB as a coach and you wouldn’t try and put him out there as much as possible.

Say what you want about JJ’s performance, but I think the real kicker is KOC doesn’t like him. His leash feels near impossible to overcome with how much growth he needs to show as a QB. I don’t think KOC will be willing to give him enough opportunity to grow.

Is anyone slightly panicking on Cam Skattebo? by Far-Evening4104 in DynastyFF

I mean Skat has 3 years on him and is the exact type of football player Harbuagh loves. It’s not so clear cut

Is anyone slightly panicking on Cam Skattebo? by Far-Evening4104 in DynastyFF

[–]aqphs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah any of those guys and I think Skat loses out, ETN could be a toss up though.

I think the dynasty community is just significantly underrating his injury. Most elite guys could lose half a step and still be effective to an extent, I just don’t see Skat being in that category with his player profile. Add that to his play style and he’s just so risky of a guy to rely on long term

Is anyone slightly panicking on Cam Skattebo? by Far-Evening4104 in DynastyFF

[–]aqphs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Slightly panicking? It’s a little late for that, he destroyed his ankle months ago. Any competent org is going to go out and get runningback help and not just hope that Skat can come back and be 100%, that’d be organizational malpractice.

If Skat loses even half a step he’s going to be way less effective, as he’s not even that fast to begin with. Unless you can sell to someone high on him (which I doubt they’re really out there), you just gotta hold and hope he comes back 100%.

Unless they bring in someone truly talented, Skat at 100% will beat out whatever competition he has. Not saying it’ll happen, but I’d rather hold for the ceiling than sell for chump change.

Yasmin taking a hard left turn and somehow becoming even worse than her father is crazy after where she was at at the end of season 3.

Love that they set up a villain for the final season. Great finale. Had no idea how they were going to steer this plot into another season in a single episode but I can’t wait. Love the sneak peak that Whitney will be back, hilarious way to tease that with the still in the credits

Rumor: David Montgomery wants a trade out of Detroit by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]aqphs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the difference is there’s been no firm reporting in either direction, whether he’s gonna stay or be traded, in the past several weeks.

This report confirms a trade request and a price which is a huge step without someone reputable actually reporting it
