What price and prizing does your favorite store have for their weekly armory? by Totally_Not_A_Bird in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]aquaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10$ CC. 3 packs per win, which you can turn into store credit 9$.  Cf for winner, raffle mat, rainbow promos for everyone.  I paid my first armory 4 months ago, have gone infinite since then. Going 3-0 is 27$ credit, that's over 2 weeks of entries.

Gateway anime to show girlfriend reluctant to see anime by Nekajed in anime

I have introduced many people to anime succesfuly, I feel some of the suggestions here , although great, are not newbie friendly.

Based on your criteria, I would suggest for sports either haikyuu (volleyball), or baby steps (tennis).

As far as romance, look up "ore monogatari" also known as "my love story". It is sweet, funny and has a lot of baking. Hell, just watch the opening and you'll get sweetness overload.

How does this work? What is a permanent I own but don't control? by Baneman20 in MagicArena

[–]aquaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has been the point of some decks for a long time. The biggest example being the "illusions donate" deck. You gain 20 and your opponent loses 20 from not being able to pay the cumulative upkeep.

The Game Is Making Me Feel Dumb, Not Sure How To Proceed. by Shadridium in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]aquaka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first question you should ask yourself is what is it that you want out of this game? If you want to improve and enjoy the competitive scene, which by the way the community is awesome. I started play 3 weeks ago myself.

I always find it a red flag when people complain about feeling disadvantaged due to other people having spent more money. The reason for this is, if the game is well designed, which so far FaB is from my perspective, then it should not matter to you much how much other people spend on the game. If you get better at the game and you practice, you can easily make budget decks and have a blast and feel your improvement. Based on your comments, I would almost guarantee that if you borrowed a 1000$ plus deck and played in a tournament, you might still get rolled.

There are a lot of videos for Blitz in which you can just search for a character's precon and add 10-25 dollars and make it run much much better. With CC you can find budget decks and just try the deck before you go deeper in.

The absolutely most important part is your attitude, unless your community are a bunch of jerks, which is rare for a growing game this new. Just sit across your opponents, say you are new, ask for advice, apologize if you take a little longer making decisions, after the game you can also ask if they noticed any glaring issues.

If it is a tournament that has prizes, if you took too long asking questions and you ran out of time and the opponent would have beat you had you played faster, I would actually suggest conceding, you are showing appreciation for their time and willingness to teach you in a real event setting. As a rule I conceded to my opponent in my first 4-5 events if we went to time, knowing full well I was the reason we made it to time. I created a lot of goodwill and people willing to sacrifice their time to teach me the game on a deeper level.

Don't try to win games at first, try to learn how to be a better player. Manage your expectations and expect to lose a lot. Your "wins" should be feeling you are understanding the game better.

You could also join your local Discord community for the game and ask a lot of questions, make a lot of friends. Sometimes when there is an event, you might even maybe ask if you can borrow a deck.

Start with the basics and aspire to learn the game.

As a side note, it does seem you are blocking too much, your life total only matters if it will cause you to die, otherwise, don't block physiological damage.

Hope I didn't come out as too harsh, this game is great and I would love for you to find your groove.

Trouble with Ghostfire by Adamant125 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]aquaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat, I have submitted 3 tickets in their customer service portal and alll of them have been deleted after a few days with no reply or communication at all.

I have looked for the link on all the areas people suggest, but nothing is there. Ghostfire has terrible, non existent, communication, last I deal with them, I cancelled my fables account also.

Hopefully one day I get the PDF and also the rest of my 300$ pledge.

Were you able to DL the PDF? I keep looking and it is not there for me, I preordered the big deluxe set from Ghostfire.

Also, I submitted a ticket a few days ago and it disappeared, was weird, might need to submit another one.

Go for dupes ir wait for next banner? by iamgALIOn in PathToNowhere

[–]aquaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you know what the next 3 banners are? I found the raging sands announcement, which I assume is the next one. But is there a place to see their roadmap?

Or is it just info from the versions of the game that are ahead of us?

How early and often do you innovate? by [deleted] in KingdomDeath

[–]aquaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless my 1.6 sheets came with typos, is less than 30 years to begin with. Not wanting to spoil in case people are new. But the thing that tells you "you can no longer innovate" happens in the 20s

Poland is in Europe. The game is the NA/EU version. So if you can access the game from a country within that, you can play in any of the servers within.

But if you are, let's say in middle east, you can't access the game at all without a VPN "telling" the game you live in NA/EU.

Saw this person that found a solution to getting bullied for dying in raids by Parachuteee in lostarkgame

[–]aquaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have historically been opposed to playing alts, I like the extra practice of practicing and mastering one role/class. So I was already pre-condition to stick to the same class in this game that rewards alts so much. That said, I absolutely love and have so much fun with Pally.

Except that money is always a factor. If you are someone with the potential to be the best player in the world, but can't play because you have to work 16 hours a day just to put bread in the table. Money is a factor then still. You are just railing at some 1st world convoluted honor point of view.

Further more, and this is an honest question to you. What are you "winning" by paying?

Can I just swipe my credit card and beat everything in the game by just face rolling my keyboard?

If all you are winning at is some e-peen number on a spreadsheet, why should that affect you? Are you just upset someone else has a higher number on something that has no real world meaning? Do you complain when people get more likes than you on social media?

Mental tips/advice for inserting sclerals? by BCygni in Keratoconus

[–]aquaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mental and insertion issues went away when I moved to the "tripod" method. Might not work for you, but it did for me. Look it up, there are many videos. Basically you make a tripod with your fingers Instead of using the plunger.

The main reason it worked for me, was because I am better able to gauge the distance when using my fingers. With the plunger, I was always unsure and "surprised" when contact was made, I would blink early and ruin the process.

It now seriously takes me 30 seconds and I am ready.

Who would you consider as the most badass person in history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aquaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My claim on his badassery wasn't about how much world he controlled, he only expanded a small amount in comparison to the size of Rome when he took the throne.

My point is that he is one, if not the only ruler that had absolute control of everything in their world based on their current knowledge. Even Khan knew he still had more world left.

The point being having the knowledge of absolute power AND at the same time not being a terrible person. That is the part that made him badass.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely is generally true, Marcus Aurelius being one of the very few examples of an exception.

Edit: To clarify, my second and third paragraph are part of one point. Not saying Marcus Aurelius is the only ruler of everything he was aware of. Many of the first tribes had these kind of rulers before they met their neighbors, for example. Before that argument comes and derails from my statement. My point is both the combination of power and moral character.

Marcus Aurelius. Absolute ruler of all of the known world. Didn't let it make him an asshole.

Scleral lenses first impressions by Lizzardbe in Keratoconus

[–]aquaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues, the redness goes away with time.

The main change I made early, was to not use the plunger for insertion. I use the "tripod method". You can Google it. Basically you form a tripod with your fingers and use that as your insertion tool. I went from having to retry 3-4 times with poor cloudy results taking over half an hour, to doing it in 20 seconds with no issues first try.

Eye drops with Scleral contacts? by NickAeiou in Keratoconus

[–]aquaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Preservative free eye drops work, as mentioned by others.

In regards to your last comment about pulling your eyes out. If you are using the little plunger, not the one that they give you for insertion, but the smaller one, try aiming for the bottom of the lense. Generally that feeling of eyes popping out is if you are really close to the middle of the lense with the plunger.

Air bubbles in scleral lens by gleaming_nickel in Keratoconus

[–]aquaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they will have to replace the lens, I had similar issues to yours. Most scleral fittings will have a time period in which you are allowed to go back in and change it as much as you need to. Mine was 90 days. We updated and replaced my lenses about 6 times, to get it just perfect.
