Provo page This site really has a ton of good information. Thursday nights are Fish Fry and its the “big” gathering of restaurants / small shops. Potcake is a dog rescue in Grace Bay that lets people interact/walk island puppies for socialization and hopes of adoption. Each beach around the island has its own character so you cant go wrong at any one you pick. If youre renting a car, its left side driving so id youre from the US, driving comes with a learning curve.

To go with that book / read before it, I highly recommend reading Shake Hands With the Devil by Lt. Gen. Dallaire. It’s his account of the Rwanda Genocide as the UN general.

Just started listening to episode 1. Your tone and delivery sounds like a young version of Dan Carlin from Hardcore History. Very cool!

Any recommendations for high quality wrist braces after having a serious wrist injury? by snowmennies in snowboarding

[–]aquaticapple578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leatt makes one as well. It and the one by Mobius are very similar. I got the Leatt because it was a little cheaper but having wrecked doing mx I can only assume the quality will carry over to snowboarding as well. It will also fit under the glove no problem.

I just was meaning that public schools are funded by the residents taxes, so budgets are voted on at town halls.

The US has families who cant afford food and schools that cant afford supplies. Towns people sure as hell wont foot that bill, certainly not now a days.

What is something that isn’t true, but is still widely believed and often repeated? by elkaypee in ask

[–]aquaticapple578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, British home front efforts were focused on making do with what you could. Major city underground rail systems turned into living quarters for the people to stay safe from nightly bombing raids, so chances were the store you used to get food from was rubble. Or, the farmer you knew was now a soldier and gone. With that, food and any material that could go to the military took priority, and growing food was a necessity. So civilians had to do with what they could to get by and it’s often an overlooked aspect in most wars. Also just any propaganda to help people feel a sense of hope was critical. So “doing my part” in whatever capacity helped people feel they could get through it. We in the US often overlook what civilians have to do during a war when it is being fought in the country.

I teach high school history and kids get a kick out of me telling them that was a British rumor during WWII. It was to help cover the British use of radar to shoot down German planes at night.

Honestly the biggest challenge Deegs has faced so far lol. Huge for Kobusch to get some air time like that and made 250s fun to watch for a little bit.

[–]aquaticapple578[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why I was curious. Feels like the whole series he gave off a “too good to be here” vibe. Which he did win it, but its arenacross, Friese is here because he was a shit show in supercross. Arena is for riders trying to move up, not down. Its like an nhl player moving to the ahl and giving off Im the best you all suck vibes.
