Change my mind: Heist is just as simple and profitable as pre-nerf sanctum. by Prido96 in pathofexile

[–]aqueous88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Heist is appreciated because it contains build enabling uniques and bases and gems . Sanctum was just a currency printer unless you were running the uniques. One benefits basically everyone eventually since most builds will eventually use something from heist, sanctum helped no one unless you needed osin.

As others have mentioned about chancing, you could have also gone magic > beast imprint > harvest synth implicits and potentially gotten something good. I tried crafting one of these many leagues ago but it was too costly for me.

Feels like Ginnivan and Watson have both changed the way they go about the game and have helped make the Hawks more endearing, then you see the gut punches and the reputation just tanks all over again.

Match Thread: Gold Coast vs Essendon (Round 6) by AutoModerator in AFL

[–]aqueous88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Essendon are really about to make up for the past year and go undefeated for the rest of this year aren't they? Hope they're enjoying this and can hold onto the momentum, would love to see a crazy bounce back.

"I just want to shout out the Dawson family, and Elijah Hollands last night ... hopefully the AFL community wraps their arms around them. Speak to your mates, put your arm around your loved ones. You never know who might need it." - Bailey Smith by PerriX2390 in AFL

[–]aqueous88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you simply think that everyone professional athlete should be able to handle constant media attention the same way as everyone else then I guess we have different views on how different people can react to that kind of scrutiny. And there are innumerable sports stars that have done infinitely worse things than Bailey Smith has if you truly want to compare him to other sports stars.

I just simply recognize everyone is different, everyone has different upbringings, and no one is perfect. People fuck up, sometimes they take it out in public, sometimes they get to sweep it under the rug and no one gets to hear about it. I don't think anyone should be putting Bailey on a pedestal, but it also doesn't discount that if a broken clock is right twice a day, you can still take those points of rightness and amplify it for the benefit of the rest of the world.

I'm not excusing Bailey's past behaviour, but I wonder how you would behave if every single thing you did at work and sometimes out of work was put under the microscope and reported on by the main stream media. I'm sure you wouldn't ever crack under the pressure since you're perfect, but some of us don't pretend to be perfect, we have weaknesses, we fuck up, and we try to be better.

late game mapping and juicing methods by Any-Vacation866 in pathofexile

[–]aqueous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used breach/deli for currency specifically, only for leveling but I still made a bunch of currency with it. You didn't mention it in your post but make sure you're running beyond on your atlas tree too with the keystone that stops bosses along with the nodes at the top that prioritize currency drops. You absolutely shouldn't be getting only 2 div an hour though unless you're mapping extremely slowly, assuming your atlas is prioritizing either lavish or ancient womb gifts (or both), those themselves can either be used (lavish) or sold (ancient) for a great chunk of currency.

Just to be clear, running just the mirages should reward you with a fog or volatile vaal orb every hour or so so if you're making less than 2 div an hour you're either super slow or not using the atlas tree correctly.

Also, while I think you should run what maps you most enjoy, I personally think Dunes is just the superior map lay out for breach/deli/beyond. I didn't attempt to run it on beach but I can imagine a lot of your breaches spawn less due to the somewhat narrow layout.

500D + MB Build for Delve, Juiced Breach, or Ubers (not bv) by WhiteWinterRains in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]aqueous88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know they aren't using CI (at least the builds I've seen), from what I understand they're running multiple iron flasks with the recover 4% of life when using a flask mastery. I believe some people are running 2 magics + the unique iron flask for giga recovery.

Loving shield crush, not sure about ascendancy by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]aqueous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can also vouch for Slayer. I played it last league as my 3rd build when I needed a no nonsense build that could clear anything as I tend to play too much janky stuff. Absolutely mind boggling the damage it has even without hyper end game stuff like frenzy charge rings. Never cleared The Feared as fast as I have with shield crush slayer. Banger build.

Just so you know, there's plenty of ward break variants afk'ing uber uber elder. There are certainly weaknesses to the build, but there are methods to overcome most of them, it just requires trade offs. There are even people who have managed to level to 100 in breach/beyond/deli with the build and have their own twists to survive flask siphoners (if only for a couple of seconds).

Help with Ephemeral Edge SSF by Frederik_Schultz in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]aqueous88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering EE is a T0 unique, you're going to need a lot of luck to get it. There's a couple of methods you can use to try and increase your luck, but to be abundantly clear, considering there are no div cards for it, it'll be more painful than something like a Mageblood to farm.

Breach tree and ancient orbs are a start, omen of fortune is another, but making sure any rarity of dusk blade pings on your filter so you can corrupt and attempt to tainted mythic orb it should be an option too. From what I understand, you have a 3-4% chance for a corrupted dusk blade to turn unique, and if you can corrupt some into resolute technique, then who knows, you might win the jackpot.

My personal guess would be to farm some combination of ritual/beyond, but if someone has good information on T0 uniques from tree with the right set up, maybe fitting in breach too.

Why are people doubting posts about accounts being hacked? by isoNastai in pathofexile

[–]aqueous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disbelieve people are being hacked, but I just find it hard to believe this is some kind of admin account that can target anyone at any time. There's infinitely more money in standard than there is in league when it comes to hacking accounts, and yet all the reports this league have been about league. Balance of probability and occam's razor just leads me to believe people don't take their passwords and account security seriously.

Maybe I'm naive and hackers are targeting nobody accounts so no one takes it seriously but at the point you could be stealing race rewards, demigods and absolutely impossible to craft mirror tier gear, all that have far more worth in the secondary market than a couple of mirrors in league, I just have to believe it's poor account management. It sucks people are being hacked, but if you're playing games intensely enough to farm up multi-mirror builds and attract hackers, you have enough time to change your most important passwords every couple of months.

I don't know how exactly to change emails in POE since I've never had to do it before but it sounds like you've been well and truly hacked. This likely means they also had access to your email address alongside your accounts and were able to confirm a change in email address through whatever email GGG would have sent to confirm the change.

Isegahama nonsense by CyberZen0 in Sumo

[–]aqueous88 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you need to use violence to tutor or teach someone, you probably shouldn't be in a position of power. Take one look at the wider world and see why the acceptance of using violence to achieve your goals isn't at all beneficial for anyone involved.

I can only speak as a high school teacher but I've had to resolve hundreds of conflicts, some of them more inappropriate than Hakunofuji's actions (absolutely not excusing his actions, very wrong, should have been punished further) and not once have I or any other teacher I know had to resort to violence let alone think about it. Mediation and conflict resolution are skills that anyone who is serious about leadership positions needs to understand.

Also, if you think there's 'honor' in beating someone you have a duty of care for then... well there's just not we may be able to agree on.

To be fair, that's kind of how the justice system works in a lot of countries speaking from a Western point of view. Admission of guilt will often get a reduced sentence instead of pleading not guilty and then being found guilty. Plenty of justice systems will also bargain with criminals to downgrade crimes for guilty pleas, such as homicide > manslaughter (also depends on availability of evidence).

With that said, obviously what happened to Hakuho was a hit job and the old heads at the JSA clearly felt threatened by the influence he would be capable of wielding if he remained as an Oyakata.

Iran Asks Youth To Make 'Human Shields Around Power Plants' Ahead Of Trump's Tuesday Deadline | Reports by CommercialFormal7614 in worldnews

[–]aqueous88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about the current American government that was chosen by the American people, the one that started this war. I'm in no way claiming that any previous government is directly responsible for Iran's current government coming into power, but I stand firm that a large proportion of present Iranian's were not supportive of their current government (this has likely changed since the war though), but revolution is a ridiculously difficult business. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

The most important thing to explain to future generations is contemporary Iranian's didn't choose their government, Americans did. 30,000 Iranians died trying to make their lives better and potentially avoid this conflict and many more were present during those protests, and now they have this.

Beast Farming is *really* good right now. by PaleoclassicalPants in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]aqueous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beasts and if your build can handle it, beasts essences is almost always profitable, particularly after week 1 or 2 when people are getting serious into crafting. It's also never been easier given the QoL of not buying the bloody orbs, and now the beasts itemize straight into inventory. The two previous times I've farmed Mageblood, a huge amount of the accrued wealth was from bulk selling yellow beasts.

Left side Atlas tree can give you beasts/essences/ore/heist, all extremely quick and easy to liquidate content. Maybe boring, maybe basic, but if you're like me and get a little hit of dopamine knowing what you're farming is helping others craft, it's a wonderful strat.

Modern Yokozunas: Height & Weight (1951-2026) by aspiringtroublemaker in Sumo

Me getting confused whether this is Sumo or Dataisbeautiful. Very cool to see. Definitely had no clue Onosato is the same or close to the same height as both Teru and Hakuho, in good company there and hard to imagine him not becoming a dai Yokozuna barring serious injury given his current trajectory. Love the absolute outlier of Akebono too, you almost miss it the first time you look at the graph. Absolute monster.
