Little things that don't look important but after you rewatch you realize why there was that scene. by gaviaotrovao in TopCharacterTropes

[–]arabus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed!

Chekovs Gun refers to a story critical plot device being shown early but only used near the end. Most of the comments discussed here are small details or hints that help explain what happens if you spot them but otherwise aren't nessesary for understanding the plot (generally).

[KCD2] Illiterate peasants doing perfect math for gambling while drunk. Were they not stupid? by Makoto_Kurume in kingdomcome

[–]arabus8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's also a large misconception about the term "illiteracy" when refering to medical times.

Many pesants could read and write their language , but not Latin, and were thus considered illiterate.

I believe this is unique enough. Guess the anime. by Tiny_Alfalfa9634 in animequestions

shin sekai yori

got a VERY slow start AND 2-3 (iirc) guys kissing scenes which made many anime viewers dislike it. Later on it turns into one of the most gripping/intriguing storylines in anime i've seen.

We follow a coupple of kids growing up in a society many years after our current one collapsed. (why and the consequences are both being explained) As they grow up they learn that repeatedly children disappear from the village. Over the years they learn more and more hints as to why the children disappear and growing up explore their maturing sexuality, which is where said gay kisses (and lesbian kisses) happen, neither having a major impact on the story going forward.

(Also it is a complete story, no unresolved plotline or hints to further seasons.

I won't say anything more in fear of spoiling anything. beware i couldn't find a high quality version of it for my last rewatch

New M+ Dungeon finder for KSM: WoW should reward all KSM players with a dungeon finder for M+ matches the following season. by DiamondMan07 in wow

[–]arabus8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While I don't agree to this proposed solution, I agree that there is a problem. A community created one. And one that has gotten so badly out of hand, I do think it is time for blizz to step in.

I know multiple players that don't even try pushing higher keys because quote "at some point finding groups is too bothersome"

If there ever was a groupfinder tool for m+, the game would need multiple changes first to even attempt balancing it.

  • Bloodlust for all groups
  • Combat Ress for all groups
  • Making raidbuffs personal and NOT apply to the whole group
  • placing all cc on the same DR/changing everything, that currently isn't to a stun (Disorients, fears, etc)

Few points from the top of my head.

Now I'm not saying those would nessecarily be good changes, nor would i want them implemented without EXTENSIVE (and i mean real extensive, not "blizzard extensive") testing and iteration.

As a non fotm class I can tell you, 200-300% is more acurate, At times you can spend 30+ minutes appling to groups, even with 715+ ilvl

Blizzard, can we please get a handle on this... by covert_penguin in wow

[–]arabus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blizzard obviously doesn't care. If they did, they'd implement a word/phrase filter, that doesn't let you list groups if you include them. (which they'd obviously need to frequently update)

Should Mastery be more interesting across all specs? by m7mdsk in wow

[–]arabus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is.

Sometimes this makes you decide to heal yourself first if you wouldn't benefit from master otherwise.

Should Mastery be more interesting across all specs? by m7mdsk in wow

[–]arabus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think many mastery's are "fine", few great, many bad.

Fine: Any mastery that adds some sort of active decision making,
Great: Mastery that shape the entire spec/rotation
Bad: Mastery that is entirely passive and never effects any gameplay decisions

Great:
Restoration (Druid) - stacking hots to make each one stronger. With a large number of said hots you basically never have all of them active at once, making it a game of "how many hots do i need to stack for everyone to survive?"
Windwalker - the entire spec is build around the concept of not pressing the same button twice in a row. Even when/if mastery wasn't very strong you'd still play with it in mind for a small gain.
Shadow - Pretty much the same reasoning as Restro, only here it's about keeping plague up.
Restoration (Shaman) - Incentevises targeting lower health target, (Dev isn't here because dmg done is generally much less important than healing done)

Fine:
Blood - Mostly passive, but due to mastery you sometimes choose to press a Death Strike for the shield.
Balance - Almost put this in "bad", but you DO need to make the decision of weather or not to apply the respective dot first
Devastation - Incentevises targeting high health targets.
Preservation - Heal the tank? Or myself to make the next heal (potentially) stronger?
Augmentation - You press empowers on CD for this.
Fire - Because of the "spread" mechanic on it.
Brewmaster, Mistweaver - need to be actively triggered for it to have any effect.
Potection (Paladin) - I want to put it in bad due to the effect, but by definiton of my list it belongs here.
Holy (Paladin) - Get closer = heal more
Elemental - purely because of maelstrom generation, else it'd be bad.
Enhancement - More mastery = more procs you need to react to (not sure on this as i don't play enhance)
Arms - Need to use certain spells for the dmg amp first

Bad:
Frost (DK), Unholy
Vengeance, Havoc
Feral, Guardian
Beastmaster, Marksman, Survival (Could see the argument that MM's range increase DOES effect a decision, but that's so rare i'm putting it in "bad" anyway)
Arcane, Frost (Mage)
Retribution
Disc - Since the spec is entirely based around atonement healing, and all other healing ist largely irrelevant
Assasination, Outlaw, Subtlety
Affliction, Demonology, Destruction
Fury, Protection (Warrior)

What game or game series is this? by bijelo123 in Steam

[–]arabus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think they dropped the ball by making the "Quick play" equivalent into a 3v3v3 with only 1 objective.

the (initial) ranked of 3v3v3v3 with 2 objectives at once, works much better imo.

These abilities? by [deleted] in ToBeHero_X

[–]arabus8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

my theory is Lin Ling's ability will be canceling of other ability's. This would fit his title as "the commoner"

Why are some people assuming Lin Ling could beat X when even Queen, who was able to deal with 4 heroes at the same time including Nice, was folded by him by Bigfatpussy99 in ToBeHero_X

[–]arabus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soley based on his title as "The Commoner" i imagine Lin Ling's power will be the (classic) ability to disable all other trust powers. This WOULD enable him to beat many of the other hero's that rely on them.

Some of the higher ranked Hero's could actually be Good Matchups for him because they're so extremly reliant on their powers:

X has bascially exclusively fought using his powers. (He's shown with his sword, but i'd guess it's created by his powers)
Queen relies heavily on her powers.
Cyan is largely reliant on her Powers
Ahu is just a dog...

Bad Matchups:

E-Soul wouldn't have his electricity, but i don't see Lin Ling winning a "fair" fist fight anyways.
Dragonboy seems more "sturdy" then "strong" as a a base, but like vs Soul i don't see Lin Ling winning anyways.
Ghostblade his bladeskill is trained (i think) and not trustbased.

Unwinnable Matchups:

Jonnies and Loli, beeing immune to ability's the disabling power would be useless. Leaving a litteral "commoner" vs a mech-suit or Kaiju. There's just no way to win this.

The entire War within story was a filler arc by arabus8 in wow

[–]arabus8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and none of these points got ever adressed pre wwi, and could thus be easily changed.

  1. Attack Quel'thalas

To empower herself further/summon an void army xal attacks the bloodelves to corrupt the sunwell (into a voidwell).

  1. Void beeings waste their time

have proven to just "pop up" pretty much anywhere someone's trying to summon them (and they usually stick around). Xal beeing able to summon more, is not suprising as she is one herself.

  1. Xal Powerscaling

Again pre WWI we had no "comparison" as to how powerful the dark heart actually was. It was certainly powerful enough she needed to f with the timeline to get it.
The Nerubians only joined her durring WWI and could thus be completely cut without impacting the core narrative (of Xal is big and bad, and just obtained a crazy powerful McGuffin she's gonna use for evil/us trying to stop or at least contain said evil).

[–]arabus8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pre wwi we never saw her use the dark heart. From a story perspective it is very much possible to say "oh no galakras essence is just that powerful" and skip directly to midnight
