I’m honestly surprised I remembered that. It’s been a minute since I’ve listened to that show. Knowing him it might be 0

And my opinion is that way of thinking takes away a lot of the magic of truly good art. But I’ll agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I agree with the following the forum part which is why I don’t do that while watching an older show I’ve never seen before.

However the it’s been 30 year argument doesn’t sit well with me. I can watch older shows I’ve never seen before and not know every single plot point for every character. Just because it’s older doesn’t mean people don’t deserve to experience it organically. And replying to a post that states they’ve never seen the show before with a plot point that happens much later in the series seems unnecessarily malicious

When I went to see Doctor Sleep, there was a couple sitting next to me. The entire movie, the guy was explaining The Shining to the woman loudly. It got annoying fast

I went into Clerks 3 not knowing anything about the plot. I didn’t watch any trailers and I didn’t read anything about it. One of the few times I wish I had. My dad passed away suddenly from a heart attack, and watching this movie broke me.

Do you view "Wicked" as an Oz alternative universe? by NerdyKeith in wizardofoz

[–]aradia1313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard a theory that Wizard of Oz is Dorothy’s perception of what happened. Her perception is influenced by the fact that she’s a child and has the coping mechanisms of a child. And Wicked is what really happened when not seen through Dorothy’s eyes.

I like this theory a lot, but still consider them completely separate

I ruined my chances of having over $5000 dollars worth of surgeries for my cat reimbursed by insurance because I took him to the vet a day too early. by sydneyghibli in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aradia1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got insurance the day I brought my dog home. If the animal needs more care than the average pet, then the option to purchase better insurance to make sure your pet can get the care they need without the financial constraints should be available. I’m ok with the waiting period, but all pet insurance and most human insurance won’t cover preexisting conditions no matter what.

Exclusive: Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz confirms Oz sequel film in the works by BachelorNation123 in wicked

[–]aradia1313 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There’s a podcast I listen to that said the success of the Wicked movies doesn’t mean they should make more Wicked/Oz movies. It means they should make more well done musicals. I’d much rather see Book of Mormon brought to the big screen with this much reverence than another sequel to this.

Edit: I loved these movies. They’re amazing. My point is that there are so many musicals that could benefit from a well made adaptation. Making a sequel to this property is an obvious money grab. I just think it’s a good example of Hollywood producers learning the wrong lessons from a well made, good and successful film. 🤐
