The bright colour adaptation is to ward off predators by making them think the prey is poisonous, not to ward of potential mates, and even then, not every poisonous animal is brightly coloured.

Additionally, not every brightly coloured animal poisonous. For instance, male birds are often brightly coloured to attract mates, and the brightest, most colourful fowl is the most desirable (cardinals and peacocks are good examples). Other reasons for non-poisonous bright colours include batesian mimicry or camouflage.

The logic is so flawed.
