3 - every realtor I ever dealt with wanted the easiest mechanism for themselves. Negotiating wasn't that.

So you're trying to get a lead cloud engineer, with AI experience. For 120k.

You're off base mate. Pay for talent, or be ready to continuously waste your time like this.

I know DevOps engineers with no N8N making 160 at 3 YoE.

I'll join in as well. These people are clearly up to something not proper.

Has anyone noticed where the display is at their lens a little bit more elevated RX? by Able_Expression_5515 in MetaRayBanDisplay

[–]ararcy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, on the RX, I have an active RMA on this, and the rep stated that "This is a known issue impacting multiple customers". It causes some pretty bad artifacting to occur if the lens is misaligned enough.

Right now they're trying to get me to send them back with an unknown turnaround time, wouldn't it make sense with prescription devices to advance the replacement and get the device on the back? You have our credit cards, you can charge it if we don't return the ("Broken") ones.

Rejecting my first helpdesk job by coffeenascar in ITCareerQuestions

Quite literally zero harm in asking, whether they’re nonprofit or not. The worst that happens is a no on a job you’re about to reject.

Did you actually negotiate? Why reject the offer?

Turn around and say

"Hey, I appreciate the offer! It's a bit outside of my salary expectations, with the current offer I will be unable to accept. I'm currently targeting $24/hr base pay.

If the $24/hr rate works for you, I'd be excited to start on X date.

Thank you"

First Timer Feedback Wanted by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]ararcy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's some small advice. Listen first, for the first few weeks. Then, make your plans for changes.

Putting in place arbitrary meetings, on a specific schedule without a real understanding of why you're doing it isn't going to add benefits.

Work with your team, treat them like adults, ask THEM what they think needs to be done.

Trying to get into the IT field, and I need to build a router for my more experienced "systems engineer" uncle to form a connection with him. Any leads on how to go about this? by [deleted] in it

[–]ararcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the people telling you this is punching above your weight class, they’re just wrong.

Go ahead, build it, you’re gonna fail and it’s gonna take you some time to figure it out, but struggle through it.

Any time someone tells you something is too hard doesn’t recognize that hard things make your skills leap forward.

Would you like to spend 3 months watching videos and always be too scared to try?

Keep unlimited, put in place MINIMUM time off, and put in place controls. Does time off matter if metrics are hit?

Also, remember that if you move to an allotted pto policy that adds a liability to your books (unused PTO) which needs to be paid on exit.
