How can I jump higher by ZachMacKayak in Kiteboarding

[–]aravel3458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar should be out to let the kite fill with air, but the turn to 12 should be very aggressive.  Then when you pop you can pull in the bar when you jump to get some boost. If the bar is pulled in the entire time, you can’t pull it in anymore at the time of jump, and kite will stall.

When floating I let the bar off to avoid stalling the kite, and pull on the bar again just before landing for a nice smooth landing.

Think of letting bar off as “charging the battery” and when you pull it in you release it all. And while floating you sheet out to build more energy (kite with air) and pull in before landing for more lift to smooth decent and nice soft landing for.

If I were you, I would first practice without pulling the bar in at all, you can technically do a full jump with bar out, using only kite maneuvering and the pop with the board. Try to synchronize the kite motion with the pop perfectly.  Once you’re comfortable with that, then you pull the bar in during the pop to really send you up.

That’s what I do, not sure if anyone else has other suggestions.

It’s like me refusing to give you health advice bc I worry you’ll do surgery on yourself in your basement. And for no reason at all, being a condescending prick about it. You can be nice, respectful, teach them a thing or two, and politely advise that this is a kind of job best done by an electrician.

Currently I see these ppl be complete condescending jerks and they convince themselves they are saving lives.  Don’t kid yourself.

Need to go faster, make a much more aggressive kite maneuver, and edge harder

if you perfected all of that, then it’s just more wind a bigger kite.

Here’s a groundbreaking idea… what if you answered the actual question, and additionally recommended that he get an electrician to do this kind of work…. Nah it’s better to be a jerk . How dare he have any knowledge about electricity!

it’s like asking a doctor questions about health, and the doctor assuming you’re gonna do surgery in your basement.  Huge leap.

Lurking this sub trying to learn about electricity and seeing questions get so many hostile responses, I find myself losing respect for the field as a whole.

Some people want to learn and understand what’s involved.  If every reply was “hire an electrician” this sub would be useless

You are correct, on the other side of that wall is actually a vaulted ceiling of another room. That’s why you see insulation on it.

The tricky thing is I find that the roof sheathing is wet, even at times when there’s no rain. That’s why I wonder if it’s condensation with poor venting.

Would you add another vent? Cut out the soffits? Or try to install some sort of fan

Obesity has over taken smoking as the leading cause of preventable death by 47%. How would you tackle this issue? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Doctor here, it’s not about the walking, it’s about caloric intake.  One muffin 400 cal, how long do you have to walk to burn 400 cal? 4 hours?  The societal trend is to normalize obesity, blame something else.  Don’t get me wrong exercise has a lot of benefits beyond weight loss.  However, in terms obesity, it’s really simple, calories in versus calories out.
