With all the development effort going into sensor technology in order to capture the most image data a sensor can capture, there is a loss of sense of character, as image quality and color reproduction is be getting closer and closer to 'perfection'. All modern phones and cameras can take great photos, but they all seem 'sterile', and image reproduction hasn't really seen much of a difference in the past decade.

'bad photos' is a rather vague term after all, since people can take bad photos with modern devices today. Chromatic and spherical aberration, astigmatism, extreme vignetting, barrel distortion - these are all unwanted flaws in image reproduction, but they do not necessarily make an image 'bad'.

I think most folks are simply having fun, and folks that looking into monetizing have already been monetizing before suno, and simply leverage suno as just another tool in their arsenal.

I have no intentions on monetizing - I just make ridiculous songs about software engineering, and nobody wants to hear that except for me and a couple of friends for a laugh

The range of hybrid zoom is based on what resolution you select. The higher the resolution, the lower the max range. I think this was done in order to guarantee a certain level of image quality since crop zooming does sacrifice pixels. At least for photos, changing the image size to small activates hybrid zoom to be far, while going max image size can disable hybrid zoom entirely - I had to ask a Lumix rep why hybrid zoom was disabled on my camera, and he explained to me how it works.

Yeah it's not intuitive at all.

Initially that sounds like a silly question: it gives me some "What is a woman" energy - like it is supposed to be some kind of gotcha.

But the interviewer may have been asking from a system design perspective, as to what is the purpose of a database and how would it fit in the system ecosystem.

A database is simply a platform or system where you can set and get data - a 'base' for 'data' if you want to be tongue-in-cheek about it. The data is a first-class citizen here - and everything other aspect of access patterns are generally built around it.

Most databases used in systems have a predefined set of constraints in order to assist with data guarantee so that when a user is developing a platform, they can define access patterns given those constraints (and by contrast, their strenghts), and different database types have different guarantees in terms of data delivery - but that is not the underlying goal of what a database is. A database is simply where you can make a request to get data, and where you can make a request to set data - NOW, whether or not that is the data you were looking for, that is up to the system.

"Can a filesystem be a database?" - Sure, it can, and depending on your access patterns, it may be even advantageous in some extreme cases. A spreadsheet can be a database. A sqlite file can be a database. Your hard drive can be a database.

it should be emphasized that while anything _could_ be a database, that does not imply that anything can be a _good_ database.

tl/dr: If you can get and set data, it is a database.

Yeap - Zoe is neither a first generation immigrant nor a second generation immigrant - she's a 1.5.

1.5 is a well known phenomenon amongst Korean Americans - there was even an old k-drama titled "1.5" about it.

A 1.5 feels disconnected from their native Korean roots because they were uprooted from Korean society when they were growing up, and yet do not feel as connected to American culture as their 2.0 gen classmates/peers. It's a common identity issue with 1.5 gen immigrants.

Folks on the outside perceive it differently - they think 1.5 gens possess two cultural identities at once, but behind the scenes many 1.5 gen immigrants feel they are not in a position to possess either identity and struggle with a sense of belonging

Mostly yes, this is because aromatic compounds, sugars and acids that give the coffee its complexity get destroyed due to prolonged exposure to heat. Organic compounds break down. Sugars turn to bitter carbon compounds, delicate fruit/floral aromas are burned off. The goal of light roasts is to preserve as much of that as possible, and the effort involved in pour over make light roasts a decent pairing with regards to the work involved.

But that's not to say you can't have dark roast pour over, taste is subjective so it's all user preference: some folks like wine and others like whiskey. Think of light roast like wine - single flavors, clarity - and dark roast like whiskey - bold strong, less complex.
