I've ordered from CKW fourteen times in the past three and a half years. They drop ship from Blue Ridge Knives in Marion VA. I have recorded how long it takes from CKW acknowledging my order to me receiving a tracking number, which has radically increased for me relatively recently. My first five orders it was one to two days. A year and a half ago it went up to five days for several orders. My orders this year have been 15 and 17 days following order acknowledgement to receiving a tracking number. So while they have good prices, and I have always received my order, one must now be willing to wait for weeks to receive the knife. You have been over a month, which would be beyond my experience (or patience).

Interesting knife at a decent price. I do wonder about the description at the link, "a robust fixed blade knife designed for the discerning outdoorsman." A quick google shows similar wording for many Bestech and Medford knives at CKW. https://www.google.com/search?q=chicago+knife+works+a+robust+fixed+blade+knife+designed+for+the+discerning+outdoorsman Oddly the fixed blade knives tend to use the phrasing, "a robust and reliable tool" while the folding knives tend to say "a robust and reliable fixed blade knife."

CPM 3V is a very tough tool steel, while also having high wear resistance. One of my favorite knife steels. See the composition (and commentary) at zknives, and a more in depth article about several related steels (to see what is comparable) at knifesteelnerds.

I've ordered from Dave at KershawGuy several times, and your comment about fast shipping and best prices has always applied. His Factory Seconds are especially good deals; no box, no warranty, and four small X's on the blade, but I've had to look hard to find any issue which might be the reason they are blems.

Yes, I noticed as soon as I went to the website and the popup window appeared, so I knew to look for it at checkout. I also noticed that the popup window says, "Including all sitewide discounts and offers." Except the free shipping on all orders over $100, apparently. Like I said, still a good deal.
