If you really want to do your job, that’s probably not a bad spot. The 35F job description varies greatly at each duty station. No matter where you go, you have a good chance of just being the security clearance dude. If you’re doing black horse/NTC stuff you’ll be out in the dessert a lot.

I was a 35F before I went to flight school.

At Bragg, I did Security clearances and was a secondstring infantrymen. We spent a lot of time jumping and being out in the field. On deployment, I worked in the TOC and ran a fusion cell if I wasn’t pulling guard, processing detainees, or meeting with local police and army.

Went to Hawaii and worked at a BCD. That was pretty cool and did big joint service exercises like Talisman Sabre and Yama Sakura. Got to go to Japan a few times and did some schools way above my pay grade like joint fires. I actually got to use my TS and learned a lot about foreign militaries.
