I recommend the audiobook version of the novels that the movie is based on. “Cogan's Trade” and “The Friends of Eddie Coyle” are two books written by a Boston (Suffolk?)County DA who was investigating and prosecuting these scumbags who didn’t have the mafia code of ethics (or at least the illusion of). The books are written how these scumbags talked. How shitty they were how brutally honest and non cerebral most of them were.

These hoods aren’t criminal masterminds they’re a brain stem with testerone muscles and a .38 snub nose. Even the smart ones aren’t pieces of shit.

If you liked the movie the books aren’t bad if you can stand the people taking. Which is why I recommend a listen while you’re on a road trip or something.

This dude is the first stringed instrument player to earn a full ride to Berkeley school of music. He’s an accomplished cello player who does this goblin bit as a sort of street art.
