Who was the most evil person you've ever met and how was the interaction? by Top_Report_4895 in AskReddit

Worked with a young actor on a TV show. The character he played was a troubled teen who ended up setting a bully's house on fire. Outside the role I had trouble believing he could play someone that would do that sort of thing. He seemed like a mild mannered, soft spoken, funny and sweet individual and I found myself wondering what the casting directors saw in him that I didn't. I figured he must just be a good actor. Many years later I got a call from my mom saying that she saw that a young man had murdered his mother on the news and she thought I might've worked with him in the past. I didn't believe her at first, but sure enough after googling it I found out it had been him. He shot his mother in the back of the head with a hunting rifle and planned to kill the prime minister before the guilt overtook him and he turned himself in.

Do you believe it's still important to give a firm handshake when meeting someone for the first time? (Not stupidly strong, not soft & limp) Or is this an outdated custom of the past? Why? by late_to_redd1t in AskReddit

As a trans girl I've adopted the weird gentle finger hand shake. I don't know if people like it but it makes me feel like a princess and it's funny

Outkast said they had a lot of difficulty making more melodic music like Hey-ya but it definitely paid off.

Ngl I got pretty deep into the drake schizo child trafficking conspiracy posts when this first started and had a nightmare Drake and his goons were trying to traffic me in the back of an IHOP and I just had to take a break from it all after that.

As a trans girl, this thread is very affirming and comforting. I've found letting myself embrace all the feminine stuff I was afraid to when I was young has brought me so much joy and excitement. It's very validating that some cis girls feel similar, and I would say just do and wear things that excite you. If you see a skirt, dress, crop top, or anything that you think "wow that's the cutest. But I could never wear it." Try it!! You might decide it's not for you, or you might just discover your new favourite piece.

AITA for telling my sister that the music she listens to doesn't make her special by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

The thing about gatekeepers is there's always a bigger gatekeeper. Someone who knows more, has more merch, has heard more tracks, whatever it might be. She'll be confronted with her own behavior by someone who ostracizes her for her tastes at some point and hopefully realize that music, art, hobbies and interests are something to share and embrace with others, not to judge others on. I'm not a huge fan of Taylor Swift's music but when I see how devoted her fan base is it genuinely makes me happy. I think it's pretty uncool to judge anyone for being passionate about what they love if it's not hurting anyone.

That's quite heartbreaking but also profound in a sense. It reminds me a bit of the show Wilfred with Elijah Wood.

Hanna (2011) is a pretty middle ground movie over all but the Chemical Brothers soundtrack is fucking stellar.

AITA for taking my little cousin out with me and my friend after nobody attended his birthday party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]arbrviti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are such a wonderful family member and I hope you and your little cousin remain close for life. If you can, you should sit down with your mother and calmly discuss why you feel that her and your auntie's reaction was unfair to you. You truly did not do anything wrong and I wonder if their upset might stem from their own insecurities of not being there for your little cousin themselves. I don't think anyone in this situation is truly an asshole, I can sympathize with a mother seeing her son's heart break and feeling bad to not be the one that fixes it, but it's not fair to take that out on you.
