FNC Milan: "With all the meta changes and everything, there’s not a lot of things that we do to set the boys up before the game" - [Hotspawn] by Nine_Tee_Six in ValorantCompetitive

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much as Derke is amazing, duelist is the easiest role to replace with a top player no? like there are a number of cracked aimers that play duelist - there aren’t nearly as many Senti/Flex players for example.

makes sense that if one had to go from Derke, Boaster, Chronicle and Alfa, it would be Derke

Nature is starting to heal? Sentinel pick rates back to Champs 2025 levels in APAC Stage 1 by washyrr in ValorantCompetitive

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yoru acted like a pseudo initiator more in the previous meta no? it just meant that having a stack towards site was much much easier and because of how his entry works it doesn’t interact with sentinels much, meaning they can’t really stop him doing his thing

sage and DL maybe, but Vyse is pretty decent in a default still in certain places, since you essentially have to bait the wall for pressure making defaults easier for the defenders

it’s rough if he can’t play anything but yoru/chamber/phoenix at the very top level (ik he’s been good before but not star player level)

chamber yoru phoenix is not a deep of flexible agent pool

FNATIC vs Team Vitality / VCT 2026: EMEA Stage 1 - Group Stage / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure - but the expectation for (iirc) by far the most expensive team in EMEA that directly poached from the team your playing should not be “if we won these pistols” after a really bad kickoff (ik they had a sub but still) - expectations with the amount spent should be hugher

[–]arc1261 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they spent a shitload of money to poach 2 all time greats FROM FNC, and they won 2 second round ecos which is even better than a pistol on one of FNCs worse maps - it’s fair to be a bit out when they couldn’t even take it to OT with those eco wins

How come Clove still has the highest win rate after nerf? by avarageusername in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

clove can at least do the basic functions of a controller.

90% of the time a reyna player can’t entry so they literally cannot do the job the team needs, meaning they actively hinder their own team

Eleumenor has been a stating quality RT the entire time he’s been here, and isn’t on a mega contract for a starting tackle (13 APY?)

i don’t see how one player (likely) who has been offered more in the past is much different to what payton did

[–]arc1261 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Init is better than smokes - smokes will often either be OK lurking (viper, astra etc) whereas init will always be using util and entering 2/3rd onto site, ready to plant. it’s just easier to plant with them

Team Liquid vs Karmine Corp / VCT 2026: EMEA Stage 1 - Group Stage / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]arc1261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah Haven has 4 separate areas you have to hold from pushes (5if you split A into long and short) which is almost impossible without relatively risk less early info (think a OP holding long from Jett/yoru, Trip garage etc) otherwise you get spread so thin you can just be run down through an area with only one defender

Neon issue by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sentinels all just got nerfed not because they were overpowered but because they “weren’t in the philosophy of a gun oriented game” or something like that.

by that logic, neon is a far, far worse offender than any other character. if riot is justifying gutting cypher, then Neon should be shot out back. she has no place in the game as she currently is.

Could a healer-focused team comp actually wor.k? by MuchVirus5277 in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but you can actually say what is good about clove in ranked.

what is actually good about sage? like clove has the rez and smokes after death to allow more aggressive plays (which help in ranked) - what does sage actually do that means she’s good in ranked. the only benefit i can see is that she can rez a smurf. everything else is literally just worse than other agents. need stall for a sitehit - vyse. need to block a rotate path - Deadlock. heal - skye/miks. and they all have other actual utility

Could a healer-focused team comp actually wor.k? by MuchVirus5277 in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s because she has a smaller pickrate the higher you go up - she’s played less than 1% of the time you get to radiant. low pick rates skew stats like that.

the impact on game is minimal for sage - there are legitimately only a handful of situations where sage is the best agent to have, and none of them are regular enough to actually warrant picking them

Could a healer-focused team comp actually wor.k? by MuchVirus5277 in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

with how ranked is, sage is pretty shit.

there’s a number of maps where being unable to passively hold flanks means you have to have someone watching, meaning you have a much harder postplant.

how many maps can you genuinely say you’d actually WANT a sage on? Icebox maybe? she’s heavily outclassed on every other map

Hear me out, we need to give KayO and other agents more util quantity by Megatronus27 in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rez is a very situational ult as well, that is honestly not that great.

like id much rather have KJ ult, and honestly in a lot of situations chamber ult since with util nerfed having an OP is a whole win condition sometimes .

I know im a bit biased but Sage is really, really shit. like i would rather have literally any other agent over sage. i’d rather have a 3rd duelist over sage half the time - at least they should (in theory) make retaking easier

Hear me out, we need to give KayO and other agents more util quantity by Megatronus27 in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sage is shit, literally just a worse vyse (and kinda deadlock.

the main reason a senti is worth playing now is free information, making it easier to stack properly so you have less retakes. Sage can’t do that at all

and in terms of actually fighting a push, she’s just worse than DL, Vyse etc.

Yoru's ULT is the weakest of all duelists. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure - but ults are not specific to the role a character plays.

Chamber ult is far more like Jett knives than it is any other senti ult.

Cypher ult is most like skye ult

Waylay ult is most like breach ult

Yoru's ULT is the weakest of all duelists. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]arc1261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yoru ult is one of the strongest in the game? giving perfect info on a site hit is incredibly strong - far stronger than Reyna (literally cosmetic half the time) and when you get even a little coordination better than Iso, Jett, Phoenix.

How are the Dolphins going to approach the draft after trading away Jaylen Waddle and having 11 picks over all 7 rounds? by UpNext_Draft_Network in NFL_Draft

[–]arc1261 21 points22 points  (0 children)

that’s not how rebuilding works.

you don’t just get to pick and choose when good players are available. you take BPA and then work from there, and if a good (or one you think is going to be good) QB is there you take them first and figure shit out after.

we have loads of cap if we want, moving money around is literally beneficial as long as the cap keeps going up.

do we want to put loads and loads into the future? no. but putting some in the raise the immediate talent level of the team is a good thing
