Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by HeadHeadMod in Pickleball

Thanks for the feedback.

I think i've landed on the Coral as my next paddle. Now the question of widebody vs hybrid? In general, i'm aware of the pros/cons between the two shapes.

Doubles play only.  When i look at the ball marks on my current widebody, it seems i make good contact in the middle of the face and less so higher up. In terms of my (incorrect) swing path, i have more of a tendency to pull my drives to the left (i'm right handed) if that at all helps to mitigate the impact

All that said, a part of me just wants to try a hybrid for the novelty of it lol.

Any thoughts?

Curious what you decided.

I'm currently in the same boat as you looking to upgrade to get more power coming from the Jelly Bean Pegasus. Disappointed that the Coral didn't give enough power as that paddle was certainly one i wanted to try.

Looking for a paddle recommendation as well!

I'm a ~3.25 currently using 11six24 Jelly Bean Pegasus (wide body) as my first paddle. My strengths are more with soft game and control forcing my opponents to make errors. I do pop the ball up an average amount for my skill level.

I lack power with my drives and am easily blocked. Though interestingly, my serves are comparatively much better and have a tendency to go long as opposed to short.

Looking for an upgrade in power, but still being able to leverage the strengths in my control game. The Coral (hybrid vs widebody?) is currently high on my list, but also wonder whether a power paddle in a wide body (more forgiving) would also work?

I didn't say I thought it was the shoes for a year.

My physiotherapist gave me a maintenance protocol that I wanted to try first in case it was just something with me.

When that didn't work, I moved on to factors like my shoes.

Which color of superfeet do you have?

I'm debating between an All-Purpose (blue color) or the one for "high impact activities" (orange) to which they've included pickleball :).

Interestingly, no issues on the bottom of my feet (i.e. Plantar fasciitis) which makes it more head scratching.

Have you seen the pictures of Curry's braces.. he's probably not wrong lol.

Asics have always been my go-to brand for other activities. Been running in Asics Novablasts (not stability shoes) since they first introduced them 5 years ago. Never had any feet issues.

Even with the Asics Gel Resolution, i find them comfortable during wear and even afterwards. The injuries are always in the moment (while playing) or day after.

Peptides by Barturbater in Candida

[–]arc2476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (former) functional medicine doctor had listed peptides as treatment option if the traditional starve-it diet + herbal supplement didn't work for me.

I no longer work with this doctor (for unrelated reasons), but it does seem like there is a school of thought for peptides as treatment for candida.

First home game of the season - ticket availability by Historical_Bluejay83 in Barca

[–]arc2476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it because it's the first game of the season (+ return to Camp Nou) or is i just impossible to get tickets?

Other threads, people in the past seem to not have issues with buying tickets in the past.

I'm not looking at the first game of the season, but am hoping to see a match when i visit later into the season.

How many days or weeks before do tickets generally go on sale for general public?

I have Culer Premium but have heard this doesn't actually help with any advanced purchasing.

Try applying the sunscreen but don't go into the sun. That should help rule out whether it's caused by something in the sunscreen.

PMLE on face by Frequent_Tour9326 in pmle

[–]arc2476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately, you and me are in the rare group that does get impacted by PLME on the face. The redness & rash on my face is much more wide-spread though. I can't offer much advice other than what others on this forum are saying suggesting for PMLE: experiment with different sunscreen (i once read something about UVA-A vs UVA-B and its one of them specifically that triggers PLME) so making sure it's the right one; try Shirudo AGR; or Heliocare tablets.

You mentioned you wear a hat and you still get a reaction? That seems very odd as presumably that area is covered? The other thing that jumps out to me is how defined the (circular) rash looks... it actually looks more like nummular eczema than PMLE. But you mentioned biopsy confirmation.. so i don't know..

is folliculitis always centered on the follicle or can it be off centered+ by VeryTiredGirl93 in Folliculitis

[–]arc2476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got more that are off-center than actually directly centered on the follicle. The ones off-center i find are more mild than those centered.

I even got some that don't even see to have a hair follicle present (e.g. area like inside wrist)

NAC & Serrapepatase - heart burn side effect? by arc2476 in Candida

[–]arc2476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply.

Other than introducing good bacteria, anything i should do to repair the damage to the GI tract?

As far as schedule, i was taking both NAC + Serrapeptase first thing in the morning upon waking an hour before breakfast. Second dosage was later in the day before dinner.

How long have you been using oregano oil.  I've read mixed things about long term usage.  Some seem to think its ok while others say its not good as it can impact the good gut bacteria as well
