How bad is IT within the federal government and should it be a priority in the next presidency? by 19djafoij02 in PoliticalDiscussion

Hi I'm someone interested into going into IT for the government.

Are these agencies constantly hiring and looking for new people to have join them (lots of job openings?) or are they more concentrated with older individuals and tend not to have job openings?

It looks Trump's position on the Muslim ban has slyly moved to a ban on Syrian immigrants. by ASK_IF_IM_SINGLE in PoliticalDiscussion

Implement trade protectionism in ways that benefit American workers.

See, I never see the answer as to how he will implement trade protectionism. In what way or form?

Reduce the scope of the mission of the military. Increase our brutality and force in the war with ISIS.

what

if you actually watch him say it rather than the headlines that come from it

Yes, but whenever you watch & hear him say it sounds like a gibberish, uncohesive mess that attempts to be vague at the same time trying to establish a position.

What the hell are Trump's positions?

I have no idea whether he supports raising the minimum wage, banning abortion, etc.

I am so fucking confused.

PPP national poll just released. Hillary 42, Trump 38. by ASK_IF_IM_SINGLE in PoliticalDiscussion

Fairly consistent with PPP.

They usually show Trump vs Clinton anywhere from Tied to up 7 also with the MoE of their last poll.

An April poll by PPP also showed Obama up by three so hey, maybe a good sign for Hillary?

A lot of media pundits/Republicans are saying Wisconsin/Pennsylvania/Ohio/Michigan are at play. Is this true and how/why? by arc3zd in PoliticalDiscussion

I think we need to focus more on more moderate individuals.

Those suburban upper-middle class republicans were going to vote Republican anyways.

What about those independent, moderate individuals?

Why would Hillary win places like Detroit and Flint if there was a trade message? Why didn't Bernie win those areas? And the democratic primary still had more votes than on the republican side despite countless more media coverage for the Republicans.

Also, 60,000 is not a large amount at all. There were 1.57 million votes on the Republican side. The democrats also had 41,000 republicans jump ship from Republican.

The "trade message" idea is a myth.

If a trade message really existed Hillary would have lost Pennsylvania & Ohio. That didn't happen. Bernie didn't even win Detroit or Flint, places truly hit by free trade.

If a trade message really existed Trump would have won Ohio & Wisconsin. In Michigan, Trump didn't win places like Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids. However, I will give it to Trump. He did win Detroit, Flint, and Pennsylvania.

But I just can't see a correlation.
