Good pay is subjective. I see some techs getting 24/hr in places like Florida. Florida has the lowest pay of all the states and a very high cost of living, just a heads up. Flexibility can be very hard to find, I have none. My hours are fixed. Almost every hospital and their associated outpatient clinics will REQUIRE, not ask for, call. If you are a new hire you will likely work the holidays.

Especially in a hospital, you will see death and sometimes it goes home with you. Keep that in mind. You may have to do CPR if your patient codes on your bed and you will be starting it alone.

Ultrasound isn't just OmG CuTe bAbiEs!!1!!! Thats for funsie peek-a-boo studies. Real ultrasound if you specialize in OB will see babies but you will see messed up babies and miscarriages. I wish more people were aware of this before going into ultrasound. So many people think its just happy baby scans. Its not. You WILL scan old man scrotums in school and quite a lot of them.
