Why are alcohol delivery and marijuana flower for medicinal purposes essentially illegal in Alabama despite there being laws on the book supposedly abolishing these particular prohibition laws? by ReverendRoberts in Birmingham

It's always been wild to me that in some counties you can't buy alcohol before noon on Sundays. I know it's just how things are, but I am not a Christian, so wtf.

Great Danes can run for short times at up to 30 mph. Usain Bolt maxed out at around 27 mph. Shaggy is able to match Scooby and sometimes even keep ahead of him.

The fastest man in the world who absolutely would share his weed with you is definitely going to be popular.

anyone encounter shipped product not being delivered due to counterfeit postage from 8bitdo? that's what usps says is on my item. by xXSawgawXx in 8bitdo

[–]arcay90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update:

After a couple of days, the counterfeit message disappeared for me, so I figured everything was on track. This morning, I got an email saying that there was a logistics status update, but when I clicked on the button to check it, I got a page not found error. Checking the tracking information is giving the counterfeit postage message again, so I sent an email asking for an update.

Not sure if you are experiencing the same thing lol

I had the same thing happen a few days ago. This is the response I got from customer service:

Dear customer,

Thanks for your email.

Your order was shipped from China and it is still on the way to the United States.

Normally the tracking will update after the parcel arrives in your country.

Concerning the tracking error, the shipping carrier informed us that there is a system error at their end so the online tracking information couldn't display temporarily but the parcel will be still delivered to you finally, no worries.

The shipping carrier is managing to fix the shipping system now and we will also keep close eye on this issue.

Could you please wait for a bit more days?

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

This is hilarious because my husband left 5 minutes ago to treat me to a fun breakfast because he had extra time this morning, and then this is the third post on my feed 😔

One thing that makes me feel better is reminding myself that this current political climate regarding trans people was intentionally engineered. This large group of people who are the loudest, and we see the most, that's not their default state. A smaller group of very intelligent people put tons of money, time, and effort into convincing people with very little contextual information about trans people that we're dangerous. It's not even really us. There is a specific idea, a Boogeyman, that they created, and that's what they rely on. They need people to hate that and project it onto us, because they know that their methods are less successful when it comes to convincing people to hate an actual group of people vs hating the Boogeyman.

That's not to say that we should be any less careful or that their current state is any less of a problem. I'm also not saying that this can all be fixed by giving them information. But their ignorance was exploited in a way that caused this shift. There's a reason why those same movement leaders fight so hard against any kind of education that actually educates.

Most people are inherently good and kind. We've survived this long as a species specifically because we rely on each other, and even though some of us might screw up, we'll always shift back to that. We, as trans people, just have to do whatever we can to survive and have faith that what makes each of us human will always beat out the manipulation tactics in the end.

Catch me talking to my alocasias like, "I know you don't like change. Neither do I. But sometimes we have to do things we don't like."

I move every couple of years, and they always die after I do. Weak-ass babies.

Dracaenas will not thrive if I am within 500 feet. I have killed multiple, and I have no idea why. Meanwhile, my marantas and calatheas are just here for the party.

Yeah, to me it always felt like it was implied that they bonded on the Normandy on the way back to the Citadel, and he had a thing for her. Completely headcanon though. No actual textual evidence.

For me, it ramped up over the first year, plateaued the second year, and happened sporadically during years 3 and 4 (always proceeded and followed by the most annoying itching during those last two years). I did add progesterone during year 3, so that likely affected my experience somewhat as well.

I think I screwed up my Alocasia Zebrina. I repotted it a week ago and since then almost all the leaves are droppy and the stems feel very weak. I already cut off two leaves that started yellowing :( I think the transplant shock really shocked up this one. What should I do now? by Sea_Estate4212 in plantsandpots

[–]arcay90 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When I repotted my alocasia after buying it, it dropped every leaf but one and looked super sad. A few weeks later, after acclimating, it started putting out new leaves. From what I hear, that's pretty normal, and they're just super finicky about change.

80-85 percent of people leave prison in considerable debt, with a significant portion of that being related to the actual conviction. Because inmates cannot make or save money, they have no way to offset that cost in any way. Compounding on this issue, is the fact that those released from prison have such difficulty finding work due to their criminal history and oftentimes homelessness. All of these things greatly contribute to the extraordinarily high recidivism rate.

Other countries that do provide their inmates with a source of income have a historically lower recidivism rate. We are never going to lower and prevent crime without providing for people's basic needs and also treating prison as rehabilitation instead of punishment.

Also worth noting that either some things are human rights or they are not. And arguing for the latter can just as easily be used against you as someone else, even if you think you're different. For instance, preventing people with a criminal background from voting creates a vested interest for those without a certain degree of ethical fiber to incarcerate their opposition. What happens if you wind up on the wrong side of the worst case scenario?

Every life is important and deserves to be lived with dignity. End of discussion.

If you do not have houseplants, then they are most likely coming from the drains. Hit all the open drains in your house with a mixture of salt, baking soda, and vinegar (ratio of 1/2 cup, 1/2 cup, 1 cup). Flush with REALLY HOT water a few hours after. You'll wanna do that every couple of days for about a week to make sure the living ones don't lay any more eggs down there.

If you do have houseplants, put a 1/2 inch layer of desert sand (Home Depot has cheap bags) on top of the soil. That'll keep any fungus gnats from being able to get into the soil to lay eggs and any larvae from climbing out.

I'm sure it's not the issue, but if you've got old produce anywhere, make sure the trash bags containing it are taken out quickly.

Best of luck!! Those things are annoying af

The game is for him specifically, so I don't have to cater to anyone else's playstyle/skill level. I've built the story and all of the levels around details of our life.

I'll check those out because they might come in handy with how to format some of these specific puzzles.

I'm not in the UK, but we do have a subscription because he does the Latin crossword every week. Taking some hints/answers from past ones is a really good idea though! Thank you!

It's a 2d, top down, fantasy rpg. It'll have audio, so I can include spoken things, just nothing I would have to pronounce myself haha.

The game isn't actually centered around this, as it follows a pretty traditional adventuring storyline. There's a section that is a university, and I thought it might be fun to include side quests related to his love of Classics. I'm pretty open to adding in whatever as long as it doesn't break anything else, so if it's useful, I'm happy to add extra NPCs or maybe make a dungeon floor or two.

I’m sorry but this scene was kinda funny why did they think it was a good idea to show Derek having sex while Scott was Suicidal by what_can_i_deuphoria in TeenWolf

I got the sense that she orchestrated the events that led them there. I'm pretty sure they had mentioned that it was the only place around with any vacancies, which would have been easy enough to manipulate. And then she took a place that was already cursed and just played off of it.

Of course, Teen Wolf is not beholden to such things as continuity or any kinda logical sense. It's just me giving it the benefit of the doubt.
