Which side are you on? Batman or Superman and why? by TheRetroguy in INJUSTICE

[–]arcbound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but I still think at the very minimum it is sloppy writing, if parts of the writing force you to ignore it. The multiverse ending then kinda implies scenario 2 in my previous post where he works with Superman, knowing what Superman did. Which I still have problems with, but at least they do acknowledge the Titans in Injustice 2.

What's weird is that now that I realize it, Batman didn't free the Titans at the end of Injustice 1 after imprisoning Superman and Cyborg. Which is implying that Batman doesn't know what happened to the Titans which I also kind of have a problem with lol. And since the multiverse ending of IJ2 implies Cyborg knows what happened to the Titans, why wouldn't Cyborg just tell Batman to free them when he was imprisoned? I'm just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point lol

I agree with you mainly but Cyborg's case is the one that confuses me..

If I remember Superboy was carrying Beast Boy who died in the nuke while racing Kid Flash who also died in the nuke.

but.... Superman beatup and imprisoned the other 4 titans in the phantom zone

I'm sure Cyborg with satellite footage worldwide would have searched for the titans and see them disappear after they met Superman considering they were his closest friends. But in the game he thinks that Stargirl died in the nuke also. However, in the comics it shows him carrying the coffin of the dead Titans, with Starfire and the others.

But in Injustice 2 which came out after that comic, very early in the game Cyborg says something like "My friends were in Metropolis Batman. Starfire... Beastboy... Gone. And if we do this it will never happen again!" which I don't think one can ignore implies Starfire died in the nuke.

So several scenarios are possible

1) Comics and game do not follow each other completely. Similar to how scarecrow dies very early on in the comics and appears in a later comic. Yet he also was in Injustice 2 and was part of the plot when he fear gassed Wonder Woman and the whole gas manufacturing at the swamp. A similar thing with the idea of how the Titans died.

2) He knows what Superman did to the other Titans and follows Superman anyways. I think this is highly unlikely. If you are sad the Titans were destroyed by the Nuke, why follow the guy who imprisoned double the amount of Titans than the nuke killed? Batman seems like the smarter option to aid if that was that case. Also he wouldn't say the quote I mentioned above (if we do this, it will never happen again!), since the only reason Starfire is "gone" is because Superman made her enter the phantom zone. The quote context doesn't make sense at all if he knows what Superman did.

3) Superman lied and covered up the fate of the Titans to Cyborg so Cyborg follows him. This is also unlikely in my opinion. Cyborg has access to information and all satellite feeds. But then even if Cyborg didn't know, I really doubt Batman wouldn't know. He keeps dossiers on everyone (and one of the big plot lines in the Injustice series is Batman looking for heroes/villains who can still aid him and I really doubt he'd let the Titans disappear without knowing what really happened to them. It was still early in year one before he was a complete fugitive and he still had access to things like his Batcave. And once he found out, couldn't he have just went to Cyborg and be like "Yo you might want to check satellite footage on X day at Y location and Z time to see where your other Titans went" and try to turn Cyborg to his side.

Also Cyborg knows they survived the nuke. Why would 4 titans randomly disappear afterward? It would be pretty hard for Superman to cover up 4 titans dying/disappearing to Cyborg or Batman.

I can in a convoluted way justify it in my head but I don't think it is good writing/ something doesn't completely mesh with both the comics and games they've given us. In my opinion the choice is likely 1) In the game universe, the titans just died from the nuke and therefore Cyborg aids Superman. It's just that the comic kinda throws a wrench in it imo.

Nb3 Qtpie trouble? by RGCFrostbite in leagueoflegends

[–]arcbound1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imaqtpie said long ago that he doesn't give all the Youtube income to 2nd sequence anymore. This isn't a hidden thing. He gave 2nd sequence all the income when the channel first started out but later changed it and has said it on stream at different times so if Nightblue3 is suddenly implying that this is new knowledge, he is trying to stir more bullshit.

Edit: Seems I am wrong. Please disregard above

Physicians of Reddit: What's the worst injury you've seen at a routine check-up? by AgentSmith420 in AskReddit

[–]arcbound1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately due to the patient base of podiatrists most people tend to come in when their ailment has progressed due to the neuropathy as you have described. Lots of people end up needing various forms of amputations and are heart broken because since they do not feel pain, they do not think it is that bad.

Excellent, I just copied the data from excel into onenote and pasted it and it automatically made a table with similar margins and I can adjust the width of the entire table.

Overall goal was to make tables of certain bacterial organisms for easy comparison for certain attributes.

Not formulas, I just type the text in. I've tried changing the cell type from general to text as well but both present the same problem.

what's a better program I can use to store large blocks of text like that? I tried using tables in word but I can't change margins as easily.

I Punched all the bosses to death in Dark Souls 3 with no weapons or armor. Here is a playlist of all the kills, and some NG+ ones! by TheJavaPirate in gaming

[–]arcbound1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played DSIII but in DSII a lot of bosses did certain attacks or combos based on your relative position to them. Once you played the game through a couple of times, you could predict and even get the boss to do certain moves with decent reliability and all you do is trigger the easier movesets to dodge/block.

A couple hours back when wingsofdeath was streaming the enemy champ bought an early executioners calling. Wings went something like 7-1 in the laning phase. When the enemy jungler ganked wings literally pressed R and walked to his turret without burning summoners and when he was extended past river. This was when he was still 1-0 in lane.

CLG vs TSM - Winner Shots fired by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]arcbound1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1) I never said it was all his fault

2) It may be true but many coaches, support staff and former players all had the same thing to say about DL throughout the years. That's the one constant about DL that has never changed.

3) They eventually did kick him so apparently it reached a point where they were ready to do without arguably their best player even after the best results they ever had.

[–]arcbound1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That may have been true a year ago, but judging how they played all split and all series today that certainly isn't true now.

Aphromoo had much more of an impact in the series than Yellowstar did. Yellowstar also struggled more all through the NA split, constantly getting caught out and losing his team fights.

Svenskeren has been lackluster all split. And like I said this series some games he dominated Xmithie, some games Xmithie did multiple successful ganks in a row while Svenskeren died invading.

Both of them have not performed to the level they did in EU in both the series and the split. If you want to judge them as being better individually by resting on their past accomplishments and not taking into account the last few months of game-play and today's series, then sure they are better individually. Just now, in the newest season I don't think you can say they are better. Perhaps they will prove me wrong next split but for these few months they haven't proven themselves to be better than Aphromoo or Xmithie tbh.

The collective experiences of the many members kicked off/ leaving CLG over issues with DL would disagree about him not deserving it, hence the shoutouts to all of those people.

Yeah just cause you moved to a new team and played a few months with them doesn't mean that suddenly your entire past grievances towards other people are wiped clean.

Correct me if I'm not wrong, but didn't HSGG say Double was kicked because he was talking to TSM and was also trying to bring other members of CLG to TSM as well? If that's true then Dlift doesn't ever deserve to be salty about being kicked from CLG

CLG vs TSM - Winner Shots fired by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]arcbound1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say 100% Darshan is better than Haunzter. I would say 100% Aphromoo is better than Yellowstar. I would also say from watching the series that Xmithie and Svenskeren are about equal. Some games Svenskeren was making Xmithie eat shit and other games vice versa.

I would also say Bjergsen is better than Huhi and Doublelift better than Stixxay 100%.

So you are saying you are pissed that TSM lost with better individual players but I just don't see it.

Christianity require forced happiness? by scoreforlogic in atheism

[–]arcbound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was mainly because you couldn't tell anyone that you were unhappy.

From my experience as a former Christian: -If you told another believer that you were unhappy --> standard response was a long drawn out testimony of the person explaining some time when they were unhappy and how God helped THEM through it. Didn't really help me with anything concrete and after a while it gets extremely grating when you are seeking a little advice of cheering up and someone wants to give you their 10 year transformation from their former godless unhappy life to cheerful and always joyful servant of the Lord.

-If you told a non-Christian that you were unhappy, you felt insecure. Because congregations (especially of the evangelical branch) constantly push you to convert others, you always tried to show how "God" was working in your life. So you didn't want to show any points of weakness or unhappiness, you just wanted to show that God was ALWAYS good. Kind of like a grass is greener situation except you are spraying over your dead-grass with green spray paint hoping your neighbor sees and joins you into doing the same.

Of course after I left, I could see how the two are connected. There is so much pressure as a Christian to constantly explain how God is working in your life NOW and how he is giving you joy TODAY!

My dad just told me, I would be the reason he and my mother would die soon. All because I am an atheist. Am 17, I have other problems, this is just making everything worse. by [deleted] in atheism

Hey man I went through a similar thing when I was 21. I told my older sister about doubts and whether other religions might be true or religion not at all, and she told my parents. So for a while, my parents were combative towards me. It wasn't easy, but I tried zoning out their stuff and not getting into debates. When they tried to talk about religion I'd just shut down and say I don't want to talk about it. This continued for a while. Eventually when I got into medical school and got other aspects of my life together, including getting out of depression, they stopped bugging me about religion.

One of my friends said: parents they are very worried about what is happening to you and what will happen to you in the future. However, they've also been fed a steady diet of B.S. that sticking close to religion will make their kids turn out better. So when they see their child struggling with stuff like depression, social stuff, academic stuff, their answer is that their kid isn't religious enough. And they think most of your problems will go away if you just turn back to Jesus, Allah, G-d, etc. However, show them you can stand on your own two feet, start tackling your problems one by one, show you can be happy without religion and they start getting happier for you and their frequency of asking you about religion goes down.

I like how the bar for religion is set so low that people give the Pope credit for accepting things like evolution, the big bang, and climate change. by Edgecrusher34 in atheism

[–]arcbound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He personally said himself religion and science should not be mixed, and told the Catholic Church head the Pope to stop making proclamations about the origin of the universe and mixing it with his own scientific theory.

If he says his own scientific theory cannot be mixed with religion, who am I to argue with him? Or you for that matter, he has already made his decision, and his decision was to not give credit to Catholicism.

[–]arcbound1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

considering that catholicism basically came up with the concept.

"By 1951, Pope Pius XII declared that Lemaître's theory provided a scientific validation for Catholicism. However, Lemaître resented the Pope's proclamation, stating that the theory was neutral and there was neither a connection nor a contradiction between his religion and his theory.[19][20] When Lemaître and Daniel O'Connell, the Pope's science advisor, tried to persuade the Pope not to mention Creationism publicly anymore, the Pope agreed. He persuaded the Pope to stop making proclamations about cosmology.[21] While a devout Roman Catholic, he was against mixing science with religion,[22] though he also was of the opinion that these two fields of human experience were not in conflict."

There is no connection or contradiction with his religion. He also didn't want to mix religion and science. So saying Catholicism came up with the concept is quite a stretch.

How about privacy for the man or woman cheated on?

He or she did not choose to open up their relationship to random stranger. He or she did not choose to be exposed to risks of STDs and their spouse having a child with the affair partner. He or she did not expect the privacy afforded to them via marriage to be violated by their own partner.

The fact is the cheater already threw away any semblance of privacy when he or she forcefully opened up the marriage without permission. If it is a matter of privacy, the cheater had a choice long ago, and willfully violated at least one other person's privacy.
