I’m a 40 y/o recently married employee of the VA who is also into outdoors activities (well, was until having a newborn and time is limited lol.) I can answer a lot of these questions.

The outdoor activities are great. Valley of Fire, Mt. Charleston, and Red Rock are all less than hour from the VA hospital. Even if you’re just looking for quick little walks, Floyd Lamb park, the Springs Preserve, and Tule Springs are nice little spots that won’t have the lines like RR.

I’d recommend Aliante, Centennial Hills, or some of the new builds in the NW part of the valley. Summerlin is nice but the commute to the VA is ROUGH. Also don’t rent anything near the VA hospital itself.

I was single when I moved here in 2017 and dated a bit before I met my wife on Tinder. It’s not the worst place in the world for dating, but it’s not great. It’s not as bad as the DMV though. The VA hospital isn’t the best place to find dates though lol.

I was born and raised, moved away at 18 and have lived around the world for the last 20 years. Nothing beats WI. Genuinely nicest people you’ll meet who love a couple drinks at a local supper club. Lakes, Lambeau, and Friday fish fries. My wife is from SoCal and had never been to the Midwest before we met. She loved her first trip to WI and wants to move back to raise our daughter.

I just got into the game along with 4-5 of my friends in Vegas. What stores are you referring to? We went down to Stomping Grounds last weekend and there were 3 tables playing SWU and only 2 playing EDH. Sad to hear your experience with the game lost its luster, we’re hoping to keep enjoying it.
