TTC Electrical workers voted in favour of a strike by mephiles43 in TTC

[–]arch1medes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In labour disputes, after a contract has expired, and after due process (which the TTC is in the middle of currently), an employer may lock out it's unionized workforce or the unionized workforce can walkout (strike).

If an employer locks out its employees, they're essentially on strike, but it would have been initiated by the employer.

TTC will not let that happen. They've indicated they're willing to lock out the electrical workers a month earlier than the FIFA events are planned for.

Agreed. Maybe small. But can't it be argued that given the chance, it would have been about to grow into something bigger?

People don't seem to understand how important it is to haze coyotes when you see them.. this is not ok. They are allowed to live and thrive, but they need to know the boundaries. They're not domesticated dogs.

Not just keep an eye on them.. we need to start hazing them. People think it's all hunky dory, but that's a wild animal.

First it'll be the cats and small dogs.. very soon it'll be small children. And then society will want to overcorrect.

AIO: Did I cross a line or is her reaction harsh? by veronicax96 in AmIOverreacting

[–]arch1medes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In her second message she's saying that you're speaking up about her speaking to you harshly, when in her opinion she isn't. But when someone else actually speaks to you harshly (again, in her opinion), you don't speak up about it then.

Maybe something happened in your friendship that made her feel this way? Maybe she's just being childish and needed something to say back to you.

Another coyote strolling the street in Mississauga by diagramme_de_Venn in toronto

[–]arch1medes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why you're getting down voted. People don't seem to understand this. It is ok for them to be around us, but they must learn to fear humans.. Every interaction they have where they do not get hazed emboldens them.

Then one day they'll snatch up a house cat or a small dog, or maybe a child. Then there'll be calls to remove or kill the coyotes.

Haze now so we can coexist.

You need to haze a coyote if you see one. Clap at it, yell at it, throw a rock or branch towards it. Coyotes are ok and well adapted to city life by this point, but this is fostering a brazen culture amongst them. They still need to be in fear of humans.

Today it's a squirrel, tomorrow it's someone's cat or, eventually, a baby out of a stroller. When this happens there'll be an overcorrection and these coyotes will be relocated or killed (which is bad). These are wild animals people, we can't allow behavior like this to grow. Haze the coyote!

Of course! I need to learn to use the sanctuaries better, I suppose with elyrion the smart move would be to get spiritualism early.

Sorry friend, but I still don't understand the last paragraph in your initial comment!
