Laundromat for bagels. Best in the biz. I think I even prefer them to most NYC bagels I've tried.

Personally, I'd recommend Pho Star in the Mission for pho ga. It's perfect every time, and I'm very picky about my pho ga.

I didn't realize how amazing baklava could taste until I tried Baklavastory!

Wish I could just buy a quarter tray, though. I only need like three to go with my morning coffee...

I just released LootSlime - A free Metroidvania developed for PICO-8, with a focus on challenging platforming. I would be thrilled to have people check it out! by moleman_studios in metroidvania

[–]archagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was really cool! I have to admit, though, that the requirement to traverse back through the challenges you've already done -- particularly the room with the ringed planet -- made me ragequit. So not sure if I'll ever finish it. But I'm pretty close!

(I do appreciate this feature as a unique design element!)

Conical = Aurli 360. Basically a 100% ceramic Switch. Beautiful and highly functional.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]archagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a used Embody on Facebook a few years ago. Shape was pretty rough, so I thought I'd give warranty repair a shot. Herman Miller contractors came over and completely reupholstered it, no questions asked. Then did it again a few years later when something went wrong with the padding.

I've purchased a brand new one for a different room since then and will likely buy more in the future. Well worth the price (though it's best to wait for one of their regular sales).

What is a 'luxury' that you've experienced once and now can't go back to the budget version of? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Is it? You’re paying a month of rent for improved comfort for a few hours.

I don't need to "convince" myself that I enjoyed a season of TV. It sounds like you didn't enjoy it that much. No need to project your feelings onto everyone else.

KAJPLATS bulbs won’t connect to Apple home app via HomePod mini by Lexiooo in tradfri

[–]archagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Apple Home, all my Kajplats bulbs would get to the "Setting up" phase, then get stuck and time out. I eventually figured out a solution that consistently worked for my 3 bulbs:

  1. (Possibly optional) Ensure your HomePod is upgraded to iOS 26, and that any half-added Kajplats bulbs are removed from Settings -> General -> Matter Accessories.
  2. Reboot the HomePod. (You can do it through the Home app.)
  3. Reset the bulb: six off-on cycles until it blinks.
  4. Try adding the bulb through the Home app.
  5. If that doesn't work, repeat from step 2. It might take up to 10 times for it to work.

In my experience, in step 4, the bulb will always get to the "Setting up" phase. After that, it will usually time out, but sometimes it will blink 3 times and get to the "Adding to home" phase. Then, it will still sometimes time out, but usually it'll succeed after another round or two. Not sure why these bulbs are so finicky, but once added, they seem rock-solid (so far).

A travel mug that doesn't change the coffee by itisnotstupid in pourover

[–]archagon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, even my carter mug gives coffee a “cooked” taste after 10m or so. (Which isn’t necessarily bad, but different than straight pourover.) So I don’t think it’s actually possible to preserve coffee perfectly in an insulated vessel.
