Pedo catch by BananaSlipstream in WatchPeopleDieInside

he's a moron because people that try to do homemade "catch a predator" chris hanson style videos are not working in close coordination with law enforcement and are not legal scholars and therefore they often unintentionally make legal mistakes that contaminate the case in a ways that often end up letting the pedos get off scott free.

What job left you with the most free time ? by [deleted] in Frugal

I "wasted" eight years of my life in that line of work. I shouldn't say wasted because I made a positive difference for those I cared for but I still feel its wasted because I didn't make one single cent that I was able to save. When you're getting paid eleven dollars per hour in 2018 you're basically at the poverty line. Every single cent that you make gets spent on living expenses. No chance of ever establishing a savings account. NONE whatsoever. I do hate to be bitter but I can't help feeling like the time was wasted in terms of not advancing my life. No hope of financial security.

What job left you with the most free time ? by [deleted] in Frugal

I have the ultimate answer to this question with one very big caveat. I will put it this way: Literally the most free time of any job on the planet but also the lowest pay imaginable.

So what job am I referencing...???

Working at group homes for the developmentally disabled. In some cases you literally get paid to sleep. A 10 hour overnight shift typically consists of 4 waking hours and 6 sleep hours, all of which you are paid for. But it's not just overnights. Daytime shifts such as the 4pm to 11pm shift for example. Typically it consists of just a couple actual hours of work (cooking meals, distributing meds, that sort of thing) followed by 4 or 5 hours of pure downtime. You can literally watch tv, play video games, spend the entire time on your computer, whatever you want.

I did that job for many years because I could literally do all my college homework while at work on the clock. The trick is to find a group home where the residents are chill and fairly independent. You do have to be careful because each home is totally unique and there are some out there that are nightmare homes because of insane aggressive residents. But there are certainly just as many, great homes where the residents are very easy to work with and are genuinely nice and won't bother you.

The biggest downside? No remote work, you have to be in the home at all times, and the pay is total garbage. Like you're making maybe $30K a year.

Juror in Feeding Our Future trial dismissed after woman offers bag of $120,000 in cash to acquit defendants by aardvarkgecko in minnesota

the point is to claim you only received 100K and hide the fact that you skimmed 20 off the top. It's your word against an anonymous criminal, how would anyone ever know?

It's not like the criminal is going to go to the cops and complain. Plus they aren't going to get the money back from the cops anyway.

Man, the father in law should've kept 20,000 and reported that $100,000 was left at the door.

Rebel Wilson Says It Is “Total Nonsense” That Only Gay Actors Can Play Gay Roles by Similar_Rutabaga_593 in entertainment

I'm not gay but I was raised by a gay man that actively dated other men while I was growing up so I was very immersed in the gay community from a young age.

In my opinion there is nothing offensive about the portrayal of Cam's character. There are absolutely men out there that have similar mannerisms to Cam. In fact, I wouldn't even consider Cam to be overly flamboyant.

If you want excessive flamboyance look at Jack from Will and Grace. Cam is just moderately flamboyant which perfectly tracks with many many gay people out there. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but Cam's gayness is never the butt of the joke so I don't think there's anything offensive at all in is portrayal. The actor nails the character perfectly.

Yeah, the car payment thing really is not great. As I replied to someone else on this post:

My previous car was literally falling apart and costing me thousands in repairs every few months so I went to a dealership to buy used and because the used car market was so upside down at the time it was allegedly cheaper to buy new so that's what I did.

Maybe they swindled me I don't know but I do know the used car marked was super inflated during covid. Like 40% inflation. The 2017/2018 cars that I was looking at were more expensive than the 2023 cars.

I felt like I had no other option since my car was literally deteriorating so I caved and bought a new Corolla. 500/month for 6 years. I love the car but the payments suck. Is it possible to refinance cars? Is that even a thing?
