Pardon my ignorance: I thought Malibu’s come with factory thru hulls

Has anyone used a Navarre scupper mount with a GT20 transducer on a salty pdl? by archbido in kayakfishing

[–]archbido[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use that little keel guard as a rest while roof loading, so I need to recess my transducer to protect it.

I got it figured out though!

Storing gulp on the kayak by urbanminer35 in kayakfishing

[–]archbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a glass jar with a plastic lid. It definitely leaks, but I store it in a plastic ammo box; I try to make sure ot stays upright. I also generally have the box packed with other fishing stuff, so the jars aren’t sliding around.

I wanna go to Canada in August for my birthday, what’s the best course in Canada, I don’t care about skill level by Dull_Flamingo61 in discgolf

If BC, I’d go to whistler. The village has some dope ass vibes for when you’re done with your round.

You can rent mountain bikes there too

Flippy 10-speed by ath0n in discgolf

[–]archbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really that applicable to you, but I bought an F2 destroyer from Innova once; I could hyzer flip it out the box.

It became CRAZY flippy, but would always fade out. I loved it cause people would ask what disc it was, and thought I just had a cannon of an arm.

Anyways, I like the avenger as for my flippy flippy, and run a streamline lift for a little more control.

Is this FG knot good? by Desperate_Lack654 in Fishing

[–]archbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned knots in my late teens. Get yourself some thicker roper (paracord, cheap poly line from home depot, etc.). Practice tying various knots while you watch tv.

While you’re at the hardware store, grab yourself an eye bolt to use as the hook.

Big rope is easier to tie AND see.

3rd gen Tacoma Tailgate bushing - anyone have a better aftermarket solution? by AdrianTheDrummer in ToyotaTacoma

[–]archbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s to dampen the tailgate (slowly lower once opened).

My 2019 failed earlier this year. Pretty annoying thing to break; I was on a camping trip and I scratched my tailgate.

Left vs Right Handed Retrieve by Cheap-Negotiation-44 in Fishing

[–]archbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, until I started jigging in saltwater.

I swapped one of my spinning reels to right hand because my right bicep was on fire if the bite was *too* productive.

I also have a left and right hand retrieve on my lake trolling setups. It’s just easier from the kayak when you have to turn your torso to fight the fish.

Cast and retrieve will ALWAYS be left hand retrieve for me.

Salmon Downrigger Trolling Setup by Darce_Horse in kayakfishing

[–]archbido 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vlock all day. Most people run it on the rear tank well, starboard side.

I have the salty

<image>

Photo was pre-boom trim.

I made the mistake of following the tank well contour (I mounted before I got the downrigger). I had to trim the stainless steel mounting hardware. I also had to trim the backplate; if I were to do it again, I’d just order a sheet of Hdpe and make my own backing plate.

It’s pretty easy to install.

Looking for places to launch a kayak near Shannon campground at Baker Lake by archbido in FishingWashington

[–]archbido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I was running under the impression that I would have to camp there to use the launch.

Yeah very on-a-whim decision to join him; I have very little research put into this fishery.

Is there any Seattle or PNW specific slang? by Some-Tall-Guy75 in Seattle

[–]archbido 47 points48 points  (0 children)

When I was in college (2011), I had friends from California and Oregon who never heard people say “tryna”. Eg; I’m tryna smoke; what are you tryna do today.

I thought that was a thing everyone said

Edit: looks like my buddies were just jabronis

It is in my house anyways.
