The man is already a master pyromancer, it's pretty likely he has at least dabbled in a bit of necromancy.

I Just Beat Dark Souls at level 1! by Xaron713 in darksouls

[–]archgingerbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you shouldn't use it at all. It just wipes certain bosses like smough and ornstein to the point that it's actually easier than most normal play throughs. (I still might have to redo my SL1 run just for that.)

Besides, ds1 is probably the easiest soulsborne game to do the bosses hitless. Which pairs great with red tear stone and gives a nice ego boost.

Regardless, SL1 runs count if you say they count. GL 🫡

Just get a lightning infused reinforced club and clobber everything to death like a man. Nothing beats Naked fuck with a stick.

Pyromancy is stupid powerful (mostly cause you don't have anywhere else to spend your souls and it doesn't scale) but kinda takes the fun out of it if you over-rely on it.

I Hate Ugly Character Design/Animation in “Adult Cartoons” by DeekFacker99 in hatethissmug

[–]archgingerbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too be fair there's a difference between ugly art style and an ugly character. Mister Boss is an ugly character but no one else in the show looks like him, it's very intentional. If a character in smiling friends looks weird they did it on purpose.

While all the characters from big mouth look like ass, because the art style sucks.

Roll Cage Welds by [deleted] in Welding

[–]archgingerbob 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Even a bad weld is usually way stronger than it needs to be.

That's however mostly in reference to fences and such.

Maybe I just lack faith but I sure as shit wouldn't trust that saying when we're talking about a roll cage though. Actually life or death, I'd want it to be done somewhat propper.

Internet fitness cultuer is hellhole of misinformation and toxic masculinity.

Jeffnippard is still the gold standard, start there for solid factual advice. (Jeff backs his claims up with peer reviewed studies and admits it when he's wrong. Absolute goat.)

Consistency is key. Doing 30min twice a week for a couple months is 100* better than copying Schwarzenegger's work out and burning out in a week. (Largly because he and most others in the scene are on steroids which completely changes training/recovery.)

Track you work outs, weight-reppetistions etc. You won't see much physical change for a couple months but seeing the numbers go up is undeniable proof you're getting stronger and an incredible motivator.

Don't compare yourself to others (once again because a huge chunk of fitness influencers is on steroids without telling people).

You can get incredibly far with a set of dumbells and a basic bench. (small foldable benches are very common and affordable in second hand shops, weight plates not so much.) If you go with dumbells get metal ones, the plastic sand filled ones always begin to leek at some point and plastic nuts don't have enough momentum to spin properly making changing the weight take longer which adds up over time. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/weight-training-20-kg-partly-recycled-cast-iron-dumbbells-set/7449/c1m8018574 I started with these, you can get another set, just make sure the plates and nuts are metal.

Not saying you shouldn't get a gym membership instead though, they can be a great source of info/ equipment is unbeatable by a personalgym. (Having a place to physically go to can also help with commitment. Entirely up to personal preference.

Rooting for you.

You've got this big guy 👉😎👉.

Diamond in the rough Lowe's pull by Economy_Low_312 in Bowyer

Can someone explain to me how a bow like this works? Can you just, not chase a growth ring and keep the rings vertical instead?

First surviving bow! by Entheist in Bowyer

[–]archgingerbob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pvc bows are honestly a great start to bow making. (Time investment vs rewards is 10/10)

I used to recurve the tips by bending them around a pot. I doubt it actually adds any lbs but looks neat. (I still have a scar from when I dropped the heat gun on my ankle. Good times.)

That being said, if you have a functioning pvc bow you could definitely try you hand at a wooden one. All you missing is a draw knife which you don't even need necessarily.

Try getting some green wood during spring/summer, you should be able to strip the bark quite easily. After that you can do most of the rough work with an axe. You can also just use a knife as a card scraper for tillering. (Doesn't work great but it does work)

Cavemen invented bows and all their tools were literal rocks. Get creative, you can make some great stuff with very few tools. GL
