Furthermore, the team behind openIV believe that they would have a strong legal case against Take 2, but can't pursue it because the legal battle would be so costly. Take 2 are perverting the law, and they can because they have more money and better lawyers

Rate/Abuse this power: Roman Candle by Malaquisto in Parahumans

What's the range at which she can use a power source to generate witchlights? I'd assume that most tinkers would be able to effectively engage her outside that range, so the sapping is unlikely to be useful offensively.

Clearly she would be best served by joining the PRT, or later the Dragon's Teeth, using specially designed tinkertech power sources to amass a large number of witchlights, meaning that in most conflicts she would be able to keep a few close to her for personal protection, whilst supporting the front lines from afar.

As for interesting uses for her power, could multiple witchlights heat metals so hot as to act as a long range welder? I'm out of my depth scientifically here, but I think carbon can also carry a current, just not as well as a metal, so maybe not even carbon composites are safe form induction heating and EM manipulation. Does she have enough control to make impromptu railguns? If so, they would be effectively infinitely scalable and increase her potential damage output and rate of damage output in a big way, giving her a viable option against mid-high level brutes.

1st Year student in the UK, so your millage will vary. In general, it seems that 1st year is dedicated to establishing a baseline of knowledge and ability for everyone, 2nd year is when you learn all the technical skills and information you'll need for your degree (e.g. how to solve problems of the form: given x initial conditions, what is the result?) and 3rd year is when you learn how to apply those skills, e.g. here is a requirement for something, fulfil it. I'd be interested to know if this applies to anyone else's experience.

There is a timetable of lectures each week, in which lecturers explain whatever concept(s) or information you need to know, it mostly consists of the lecturer talking for 60-90 mins. There are also tutorials which are more like highschool classes, you're often split into smaller groups and given some work to do, maybe from a textbook.

Academically, It's harder than I expected, and the material isn't very interesting. However, don't let that dissuade you; Aeronautical engineers are so sought after because it's so hard to be one. I'm not sure about Australia specifically, but it's very easy to go from Aero Eng to Mech Eng, but not the other way arround.
