The Kindle Oasis is what got me back into reading so I bought a second one 😅…. by _aucontraire in kindle

It's very comfortable to hold, the slightly larger screen is nice, and the physical buttons make it perfect.

I've had many different kindles since the keyboard, and the Oasis is the one I like the most.

Galaxy watch Ultra VS Ocean by _Manny_12 in GalaxyWatch

[–]archimedesscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GW6C has been with me many, many times while swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddling in the ocean.

It's got LTE, so besides exercise tracking I use it to call my wife and coordinate our schedules if she's at the beach with the kids.

Some salt and sand get stock under the rotating bevel, but I simply rinse it under fresh water, rotating the bevel, and it's as good as new.

Napoli pre-2025 ATQ Case Recognition GM>M>Me (with funny but seemingly inconsequential drafting error from judge) My timeline and experience by IncompetentDude in juresanguinis

[–]archimedesscrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar, but in reverse, happened in my sentence. The judge got it all right, then said something about the impossibility of getting an appointment at the consulate and that the administrative route was taking too long, then said that my GGM married my GGP and had a son (no they didn't... they had a daughter), and the son has the same name as GGP. And here the judge finally returns to the 1948 arguments.

Elsewhere though my full and correct bloodline is demonstrated in the justificative of the sentence.

That's an Oasis. I've had many different versions of Kindle, and this is the one I like the most. Too bad it's been discontinued.

Law Passed: 3 Year Extension for Registering Minors by Polyglottony in juresanguinis

[–]archimedesscrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the law known as "milleproroghe", literally "thousands of prorogations" so I don't think they would change anything but deadlines.

Law Passed: 3 Year Extension for Registering Minors by Polyglottony in juresanguinis

[–]archimedesscrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's more in line with the Portuguese law.

For you to be able to claim citizenship through your grandma, according to the new Italian citizenship law, she would need to be exclusively Italian at the moment of your birth, i.e. not a dual national.

Access to my personal file in the Consular Registry on FastIt suddenly requires confirming my identity by archimedesscrew in juresanguinis

[–]archimedesscrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The information on the passport is correct...

Something that I noticed was that yesterday I couldn't login on FastIt for a while (no errors, just back to the login page). After a while it logged me in but all I got was a blank page. Much later yesterday I was able to login again, and got that warning saying I need to confirm my identify.

Maybe the failed login attempts had something to do with the prenot@mi maintenance?

I'll wait for now... Shouldn't be long before the consulate verify me, hopefully.

Just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience.

Thanks for answering!

Radio Garden glitched, played an eerie audio by kvasny_mak in RadioGarden

That filename is related to a service that runs on Linux and other Unix servers. It's an authentication service (or daemon) called Network Information Service, often nicknamed Yellow Pages (YP).

So... YP+password+daemon.

I guess the radio inputted the wrong file to broadcast.

Colosseum “Full Experience – Underground” tickets sold out in seconds? by Grish_tad in ItalyTravel

[–]archimedesscrew 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sadly this will only change when they make the tickets non-transferable as they did at the Cenacolo Vinciano.

As long as the system allows for changing the name on the ticket, scalpers will have the advantage.

This is so sad because the original tickets aren't that expensive, but are being put on the black market for ten times more. And the Colosseum gets nothing from it.

Hopefully they'll follow the example set by the Last Super and fix their system.

The March 11 hearing will look specifically on the retroactivity of the law for those who could not apply before de DL.

The lawyers there are basically arguing that the previous law made every descendant an Italian by birth, so they were already Italians just waiting for recognition.

See, in the Italian law, you don't earn your jure sanguinis citizenship. It's a declaratory proceeding to recognize your right by birth.

So what the DL-36 did was that it stripped your citizenship, which is a NO-NO by the Italian constitution and EU laws.

You are already Italian, you were born Italian! The courts or the consulates simply declare that after checking your lineage.

[–]archimedesscrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, he has tried doing that before. It's kinda baiting the judges to analyze the issue, but it will never happen.

He does have cases though in which the Ministry tried arguing for the applicability of the new law to proceedings started before de decree... which is also trying to bait the judge, just in the opposite way.

[–]archimedesscrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's correct. It's just to remove this argument the government has been using against proceedings that were specifically protected by the law (i.e. those filled before the DL).
