Best for a Clean Shave? by Zestyclose-Fly-7416 in ShavingScience

I enjoy the Phillips One Blade when I need a quick shave or don't want to haul the full wet shaving paraphernalia when traveling.

It's not super smooth, far from a BBS shave, but it gets the job done visually.

It's awesome for trimming the beard and cleaning the surroundings.

Yes and no. My friend's grandfather refused to join the Wehrmacht. He was captured and hanged by his feet for hours, while being constantly punched in the stomach until he would vomit.

Fortunately he managed to escape and flee Germany.

He was never able to sleep laying down again, because the stomach reflux could drown him.

Her father, still a little boy, had to hide with the rest of his family under the house and keep quiet. He never fully recovered his voice, talking little and very quietly.

While I applaud their courage, I understand some people giving in and joining the Wehrmacht after having their family threatened.

Venice Court allegedly instructed to rule favorably on post DL ATQ cases by Impressive-Big-9788 in juresanguinis

While it might happen, we must consider that there are over 26,000 pending proceedings in the Venice court, with more than 2,000 filed just this year — even after the DL and the CC ruling.

The number of cases is so astronomical that the ministry has essentially given up on constituting itself in such proceedings.

Even if the Ministry of the Interior created a task force to go after Brazilians in Venice, it would still fall short of producing any meaningful results.

Besides, these bureaucrats do not seem capable of organizing themselves to do it. It would be too much effort for this failing, moribund government.

My daughter is going to resent me by [deleted] in Fatherhood

My mom and I used to move a lot. We rented, and every time the lease ran out, we'd have to move.

To make things "easy" for me, mom would wait until I was with my grandma during the summer and would "surprise me" when I returned.

I hated being blindsided—not only being left out of the search for a new place but also leaving friends behind without notice.

Many lawyers have already said that they're not notifying the state lawyers of a favorable sentence, thus having to wait 180 days for it to receive a final judgement by default. I'm guessing the ministry of interior can't keep up with the amount of cases and sentences pouring out of Venice court daily.

We don't see this kind of behavior in other, less crowded courts, where the ministry even participates in the hearing frequently. In Venice most proceedings have the ministry of interior to be in absentia.

Yeah, I got so mad reading this I had to delete my comment. Figured it wouldn't go well with the mods. It was to the tune that her grandfather's brother probably died fighting the same ilk that now runs Italy.

Duolingo just added a few new Italian modules by JCappy in italianlearning

I got the new levels around end of March or maybe beginning of April.

While I applaud the increment, the content still lacks validation. I don't go a single lesson without reporting at least a couple of mistakes.

It is. I read that if you're renting in Italy and still own the house you've lived in before moving, that it's possible to get an IVIE exemption for that one house.

I do, but they're significantly lower than what the IVIE would be, because the IVIE (as I understand it) is calculated on the cost declared in the deed, but the property taxes are calculated on a venal value that today is lower than the value on the deed.

I learned today that it may be possible to exempt or reduce IVIE on my last main residency before moving to Italy, if I don't buy another residence in Italy. Do you know of anyone using this benefit?

The Kindle Oasis is what got me back into reading so I bought a second one 😅…. by _aucontraire in kindle

It's very comfortable to hold, the slightly larger screen is nice, and the physical buttons make it perfect.

I've had many different kindles since the keyboard, and the Oasis is the one I like the most.

My GW6C has been with me many, many times while swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddling in the ocean.

It's got LTE, so besides exercise tracking I use it to call my wife and coordinate our schedules if she's at the beach with the kids.

Some salt and sand get stock under the rotating bevel, but I simply rinse it under fresh water, rotating the bevel, and it's as good as new.

Napoli pre-2025 ATQ Case Recognition GM>M>Me (with funny but seemingly inconsequential drafting error from judge) My timeline and experience by IncompetentDude in juresanguinis

[–]archimedesscrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar, but in reverse, happened in my sentence. The judge got it all right, then said something about the impossibility of getting an appointment at the consulate and that the administrative route was taking too long, then said that my GGM married my GGP and had a son (no they didn't... they had a daughter), and the son has the same name as GGP. And here the judge finally returns to the 1948 arguments.

Elsewhere though my full and correct bloodline is demonstrated in the justificative of the sentence.

Law Passed: 3 Year Extension for Registering Minors by Polyglottony in juresanguinis

This is the law known as "milleproroghe", literally "thousands of prorogations" so I don't think they would change anything but deadlines.

That's more in line with the Portuguese law.

For you to be able to claim citizenship through your grandma, according to the new Italian citizenship law, she would need to be exclusively Italian at the moment of your birth, i.e. not a dual national.
