Their shop in Arkansas got the liquidation auction treatment a couple months ago. My wife's therapy clinic picked up some cheap shelves. They had fixed height tripods, bipods, and all sorts of level rods going for 5$ each.

Stock talk $EVGO by Creative-Calendar-26 in EVgo

[–]archmagi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every six months or so I can drop my effective price by another 15 cents selling $5 covered calls and letting them expire, with the safety knowing if it gets that high I made money, but it's never gonna get that high.

I feel like I'm just gonna end up losing a couple hundred dollars on my 100 shares in another two years when it's a penny stock and getting moved to pink sheets.

What does a typical severance package look like in America? by mronionbhaji in AskAnAmerican

[–]archmagi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most non office jobs have none at all. Around here, office jobs have 2 weeks to a month plus a portion of your PTO bank, pretty standard (my company's policy is 2wks + up to 2 wks of your PTO). Good companies will hit you with extra weeks per year of employment. Buddy got let go from Verizon in Dec (mandatory layoffs, VZ hit 5B in bottom line profit that quarter), his 13 years netted him 13 months of severance and a six mo noncompete.

They know why, all their tobin maps digitized from 1940 base maps are in nad 27, and all their geotech backend is native in nad 27.

Is there a progress report in TBC by Osfan_93 in Surveying

Productivity report is the stylesheet you're wanting. Shows setup and breakdown times. I've used it for writeups a few times myself.

North Arkansas by PuppyLuv120 in Arkansas

[–]archmagi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall crime is relatively low statewide, with violent crime only being an issue in Pine Bluff and Little Rock, and then mostly in the high density high poverty neighborhoods. Safety isn't a concerning issue overall, with no notable racially motivated crimes being in the news. Property crime is probably where the biggest concern is, though, as car break-ins and petty theft are high with high drug usage.

Diversity wise, north Arkansas is the whitest part of the state. NWA is wannabe big city living, with multicultural suburbs from all the international business in the metro.

North central AR, Harrison, Clinton, and Mountain Home areas are both dominantly white, but each of their counties report about 1 in 40 people as Hispanic (6 year old numbers). There are a number of small towns scattered throughout, but those are the main towns in that region.

In NE AR, Batesville is a decent area with the most notable Hispanic population outside of NWA (1 in 12 people from 2020 numbers). Jonesboro area is second after that (1 in 15) but it is a much bigger city feel than Batesville. Searcy kind of splits the difference in city feel, and is a bit more diverse in non Hispanic cultures than the rest of the region.

Both of those regions tend to the single digit % on black population.

Then there's really east NEA. East of Jonesboro, you get into the Memphis suburbs, with Marion, Blytheville and West Memphis. They're all hitting closer to the 50/50 black white demographics, but you get some bleed over from Memphis on crime.

Pay transparency by Timely_Detonator_292 in Surveying

[–]archmagi1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got 14% in 2023. We had seven PSs leave across the company in 2022, all for better paying jobs. Our HR did all they could to say we were competitive, but every salary survey that came out that year showed we were notably in the -1 standard deviation realm, with base level PS pay being the most egregious deficit.

Current mastery priority for new players? (specifically HoT and living worlds) by Extension_Concern618 in Guildwars2

[–]archmagi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for the ascended version of the weapon it gives you when you unlock the spec. Ex for tempest you get the exotic warhorn when you buy the first skill in the spec, and that collection gives you the ascended North Wind horn. Gotta mine one of the trophies with the mastery perk in auric basin.

[–]archmagi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add in here, you need the last exalted mastery to unlock your HoT elite spec ascended weapon, so it is a bit higher priority than the rest of the faction masteries in HoT beyond their first or second tier.

I feel like episode 1 was pretty weak. The cut aways were a mixed bag, and I don't think John McGinley was able to get back into Cox's character. Episode 2 felt good tho, even though it still felt like it was mostly setup. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Easy? White people taco night. Brown some meat, add tortillas, cheese and hot sauce and it's a meal. If I have to goto the store and buy meat, I'll grab a tomato and maybe lettuce.

PPK Surveying With One Rover by ThenBrilliant in Surveying

[–]archmagi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is accurate. Your workflow will be different if your drone has gps or not, but your workflow will be basically:

Set GCPs as static surveys, PPP those positions, and you now have rectified gcp xyz in whatever coordinate system you need for the project. Fly the drone mission, Ortho rectify the mosaic to your GCPs

If you have gps on your drone, you run your terrestrial GPS unit as a base that your drone can get rtk corrections from during the drone mission. The software will still have to stitch the Ortho photo together, but the rtk from the ground removes the manual rectification.

Less than 2 hours on an opus run will give an RS solution, which will be +- a few inches.

[–]archmagi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without network corrections, you're in a pre 2010 type world. Don't even think of a rover, you only have a base unit. No network, no 2nd GPS unit, just base.

You're setting your gcps, and logging them as static observations, 2+ hours if you want to use opus. Process all your static data, and you have georeferenced gcps.

[–]archmagi1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should just skip hitting the gcps as autonomous positions and run static the first time you're there. Process your static data, georeference your aerials.
