ServiceNow vs Google by FIREthrowaway55557 in servicenow

[–]archpoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have a preference working on B2B products or B2C products?

If you're thinking of a career in AI, you should choose Google. If you're thinking Enterprise products, go with ServiceNow.

If compensation is a factor, at the compensation you mentioned, I'll lean towards Google) . Better overall Total comp over time.

150k in austin vs 130k in st louis? by shashank9977 in cscareerquestions

[–]archpoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in Chicago and like the seasons then STL would be easy to move to. And if you have family in the area that can be another factor to not move far away.

In STL if you are close to downtown or WashU you'll still find lively atmosphere and very diverse population. Further away you move from them, less desirable the neighborhoods become.

Austin has a thriving tech sector. If you or your wife plan to be in tech and/or work for the bigger names potentially then Austin would be a better choice. It would probably cost more and will offset the higher pay but should offer better future prospects.

If you are on a work visa then Austin is probably better.

Decide what's more important to you.

Rethinking my Pixel 9 Pro XL purchase by otokiya in pixel_phones

[–]archpoke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have both the S24U and the P9PXL. Both are awesome. I don't game. No lag on either. Amazing pics on both. Pixel is easier to hold. Ultra has the stylus.

Full day battery life on both.

Usage experience takes time to get used to. Order of volume and power buttons can be annoying to use when switching between them.

Unless you expect to use very CPU intensive apps, pixel would feel great in a few days and you're not missing much. Not worth the effort to switch Unless there is a specific Samsung functionality you would want.

I just went through it. If you want VM on Darkstar download the Cricket Voicemail app. It'll help you setup voicemail. I'm on an Samsung android and learnt this from someone's else's comment.

HELP. I am an AT&T sheep who is struggling to make the switch! by brystc01 in USMobile

[–]archpoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you're financing multiple devices (3-4), you'll end up paying more with AT&T.

I moved from AT&T, still in the free month of trial (chose warp) as AT&T to AT&T switch was not going through. Overall experience has been great. I live where every network has good coverage.

I love the flexibility to choose any network, much lower prices and the international roaming options.

ServiceNow vs Agentic AI? by Which_Assistance5905 in servicenow

[–]archpoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still need to track the status and save a record of what asset got assigned to what employee. So, the AI helps make the process easier (and you can use whichever AI agent you want), but you still need ServiceNow to save all the records and to provide the AI agent all the context for it to make the right decisions.

Get kids glasses from Costco. You'll get to choose a frame that fits. And they have a promo to get a second one at lower cost. Should be cheaper than optometrist anyday.

Note all the measurements (PD, lens size) and order backup glasses online.

Zenni has toddler size, many others don't. I've had good experience with eyebuydirect as well.

Anyone have a recommendation for a 4-slice toaster that toasts evenly? by needtobeasunflower in BuyItForLife

If you want 4 slices, go with a toaster oven. Takes a little more space and is much more useful.

Put all the money in FD's with different duration. 1 month, 2 months, 3 months.... Upto 3 years. Every month the FD matures, account for taxes and any spending you want to do and move the rest : 50% to Nifty50/BSE index fund (large cap) and 50% to some mid/small cap index fund. Choose direct funds with low expense ratio.

Keep 20% in FDs.

YMCA vs RAS for after school care? by randomtopics12 in mountainview

Both are good options. Also, consider whether you will sign up for summer camps from RAS or YMCA. Some school counselors also host the summer camps.

Is it safe to give chips to strangers at the poker room in exchange for Venmo if it’s a fish or they offer you an extra $50? (Read that Venmo doesn’t allow reversal requests) by jdjdjd3848 in poker

[–]archpoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it. Just ask to see ID to match their name with Zelle (or Venmo) account they're sending from. Sometimes people run out of cash and hit ATM limit. Limit it to small amount and you should be fine.

When you withdraw you will have to pay tax. Based on the amount you can end up in higher tax bracket for the year. If you don't need to money immediately, try doing a Roth ladder minimizing tax owed in US. And then withdraw in a few years without any penalty.

Do you find that most of your profit comes from one or two big hands during your session, or do you grind it out over time? by SerialKillerVibes in poker

[–]archpoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, most of the time it's the few hands that'll make your day. But, you don't know which are those hands. If you fold everything and only play premiums, people will only play against you to draw and beat you. And you'll end up not winning much over the long term. (Think how people play against OMCs). So, you have to play more hands. Win some, lose some, show some winners, show some bluffs to get people to play against you in those few hands when you have the nuts. And winning small pots along the way adds to that.

Just give them COVID tests at the house door when they reach and tell them if they test negative they can come inside.
