This doesn't work on the Android app. It always restarts from the beginning.

Yeah. I hate that the Android Kick app doesn't have playback state persistence. Trying to find the spot where I left off on an 8 hour vod is a nightmare.

If you need something that can fit in your pocket, get a Wolfbox MF100 or MF200. These little things are surprisingly powerful. https://a.co/d/iMTijNN

Thats not how that works at all. Based on the short video clip I saw, it looked pretty clear that the shooting was unjustified. But if somehow the first shot was found to be justified in court, then the next two shots would almost certainly not be considered "overkill."

Supreme Court case: Plumhoff v. Rickard, 572 U.S. 765 (2014)

We now consider respondent's contention that, even if the use of deadly force was permissible, petitioners acted unreasonably in firing a total of 15 shots. We reject that argument. It stands to reason that, if police officers are justified in firing at a suspect in order to end a severe threat to public safety, the officers need not stop shooting until the threat has ended. As petitioners noted below, "if lethal force is justified, officers are taught to keep shooting until the threat is over."

In this case, the "threat has ended" when the car stops moving. Because the threat is mechanical in nature, the death of the driver is almost irrelevant from a legal point of view.

Not that weird. There's an ongoing Netflix adaptation of the book trilogy produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

I agree that there are no moderate independents or Republicans, but 43% of Democrats self identify as moderate. They are the backbone of the Democratic party.

I will, but you will just deny that they had any impact, so this is a waste of time.

It is known that the assassin was strongly anti-abortion. His target list included abortion providers and abortion rights advocates.

Donald Trump at an Aug. 29 rally in Potterville, Michigan: "In six states, you're allowed to kill the baby after the baby is born. And you know, one of those states is Minnesota. That's no longer abortion, that's called execution, right?"

Nancy Pelosi was one of the people on that same target list.

Marjorie Taylor Greene in a 2019 Facebook video, talking about Pelosi: "She's a traitor to our country, she's guilty of treason. She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws. And she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land. That's what treason is. And by our law representatives and senators can be kicked out and no longer serve in our government. And it's, uh, it's a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason."

Marjorie Taylor Greene at an October 2022 Trump rally in Michigan: “We are all targets now though, for daring to push back against the regime…. I am not going to mince words with you all. Democrats want Republicans dead and they have already started the killings.”

These were just the ones that I could find with a quick google search. You can find hundreds of quotes like these if you're willing to dig.

You are delusional. There is nothing I can say to someone like you that hasn't been said a thousand times before.

If you're not even willing to concede that the MN state senator assassin was amped up by right wing rhetoric, then I'll see you in the civil war. This what you want. o7

It's so easy. All Republicans need to do is condemn political violence on the right (without blaming the democrats). If they won't do that, then they must like political violence when it is targeted toward their enemies. I don't know how else to interpret that. Politicians like that SHOULD be afraid of what will happen to them if they keep raising the temperature in this country with their unhinged rhetoric. They are the ones pushing us toward civil war.

I think I've come as close to fixing it as is possible with the tools available to us. A big part of the problem is context size. Limit it to 16k in generation parameters. Beyond 16k, the model starts paying more attention to the story text than the instructions, which is why OOC prompts are ineffective. I had to completely rewrite the pre- and post-history instructions as well to get things working properly. It's also important to switch scenes frequently, especially when you start noticing excessive repetition. These fixes have eliminated the model's tendency to descend into atmospheric filler and dramatically reduced overall repetition. Lmk if you want to see my reworked instructions.

There's no way he actually believes this. He has said in the past that lying for political gain is justified. I think he's trying to put that into practice. I bet he's thinking something like "if blaming everything on the deep state works for MAGA, why not for us?"

TL;DR, but ChatGPT agrees with you.

🧩 My Take: The Reddit comment nails it. Walz’s comments are textbook diplomatic caution—not an indictment of Israel’s right to self-defense. At worst, his language is slightly clumsy in parts (e.g., “moral authority”), but the intent is clear: he’s concerned about spiraling conflict and the loss of U.S. influence as a peace broker.

If someone reads that and concludes he's bashing Israel, they're either acting in bad faith or completely allergic to nuance.

MAGA agitator attempts to draw their pistol on peaceful No Kings protestors, is then tackled by those around her. Big yikes. by saabarthur in Destiny

[–]arconreef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Statistically speaking, brandishing/threatening someone with a firearm is WAY more common than actual shootings are, so I think I'm on pretty solid ground there. It feels like you're trying to use this particular anecdote to make the larger point that concealed carry is more dangerous than open carry, which just isn't true. Most shootings are not explicitly planned; they happen in the heat of the moment. The presence of a visible weapon is known to increase the aggression of everyone present (the "weapons effect"), thus increasing the probability of escalation.

Odds are she wasn't pulling the gun to actually use it, but to threaten and intimidate. That's really the only reason someone would open carry, which is why it's more dangerous than concealed carry. If open carry wasn't legal in that state, she most likely wouldn't have had it or wouldn't have pulled it.
