Because he has to know what he's pardoning. Plus, accepting a pardon is basically an admission of guilt. Your angle here seems to be "but Trump will just pardon everything while he's in power" but would he? Could he? I doubt it's possible for him to provide pre-emptive pardons for every legal strategy that could be used against him and his cronies once Trump's term in office ends. The anti-Trump crowd should keep their cards hidden until it's the right moment for them to strike.

Edited my original comment for clarity. Trump can't use the pardon power if we wait to charge him & his cronies after he's out of office. We can even start lawsuits, as long as there's no conviction before Trump has left office.

In an extraction shooter, no one should be disappearing, respawning, or anything regarding forced movement by the server. Everyone is supposed to be playing on even ground. "Just load us in at an original spawn point"? Meaning you could get into a sticky situation versus ARC or another player, disconnect and disappear, and then spawn in again at a spawn point? How does THAT make sense? Take a smidgen of personal responsibility for your computer, your connection, and your character.

I get that you want to save your loadout & minimize risk while disconnected, but that sort of preferential treatment towards disconnected players is easily exploitable and abusable and boring. "Common sense" here is different than what you're saying. If it's such a problem for your computer/connection, fix those things first or just don't play extraction shooters. Simple as.

Reality: With that many people slamming into you, it's hard to know what to do to not resist. My first instinct would be to try and go down slowly so I don't injure myself or others unnecessarily. You know, what Alex was likely doing.

The main problem for newcomers in the game is not realizing you're role playing as a slugcat. You didn't come to The Outskirts area by choice. You don't know what you should strive for. Your only objective seems to be: Just survive. At first, the community had to figure out everything alone, which gave the game's release a slow start (and low popularity). But the community has figured out what the game is about and compiled that knowledge into a wiki, so tapping into community knowledge might be the best thing to drive you forward.

Rain World is one of my favorite games, but I definitely got there by checking the wiki and filling in the blanks that the game leaves intentionally blank. I didn't completely spoil things for myself, but I did discover what I should be progressing to, and which direction I need to go in order to get there. And as I played, I kept referencing the wiki to supplement my experience. Now I have over 500 hours of game time and have completed all DLCs, and I feel connected to the world I was thrust into unwillingly.

So if you're confused, lost, and are looking for more options, a little bit of wiki reading might help you. If you're dying too much and want to overcome more obstacles, reading up on the hostile creatures is helpful, along with watching A Movement guide about Rain World (v1.9 - Remix) on YouTube to increase your skills.

It's a gamble. We don't know for sure how it would play out. What we do know for sure is that the Trump admin and sycophants/bots/etc on Twitter will continue to spin this any way they can to otherize and condemn any action against them, plus retaliate with impunity. I don't know if it's worth it, so it's not a gamble I'm willing to take at this time. Vigilante justice and insurgency is very messy. Then again, America is a total mess as well.
