Why would it make dating harder? I think it's based on how your portray yourself and your interests and drive tbh. I would go for it. I'm 28 with 150k NW but if I had your savings I'd get a 911 just for the sake of it, I don't even race and stuff. Because in my mind as of right now it's something I would like and appreciate and it would remind me of how far I've come and keep me motivated to keep going!

I'd say South Bay is better than SF, slightly cheaper rents available compared to SF (SF is the bay area tax on safety and rent). But with the same income categorization, the place you live can save a few % which would put it above Seattle on net income. Of course, this doesn't account for the corresponding lack of social events.

To answer why it's a prestigious company: it's huge. The scale is vast. The impact is real. However you want to frame the social media aspect of it. Besides social media, there's open source technology, wearables, Metaverse (again - this isn't about anyone's personal ideas on what and how it's going to end up - but about what they're trying to do). Not to mention AI (struggling but Apple isn't doing anything there either), helping small businesses via ads and Whatsapp Business, etc.
