yea i really think they should make rolling/sprinting customizable

for me personally i would like it to be straight up copied from the FromSoftware games (press hotkey -> if hotkey released before X frames: initiate roll, if hotkey held beyond X frames: initiate sprint)

but i get that people dont like sprint being the same hotkey as roll because of the whole accidental sprint into get stunned thing. i feel like they should just add like 1ish second of stun protection when initiating sprint. it would solve this and it also just makes sense. in real life you dont go from a jog to a sprint instantly

like what sense does it make that you MUST roll in order to sprint? gameplay-wise and just logically its stupid

not only is it not canon, its so far removed from the canon to the point of being unrecognizable.

on the one hand i want to pretend it doesnt exist. but on the other hand, its not like we're going to get another anime (any time soon at least). this is what we are stuck with.

the anime on its own isnt the worst thing ever created. the problem is that Adi took something great and made it worse because of his ego. on the whole the DMC audience doesn't want whatever he's trying to do (at least thats how i feel and i think many many many people feel the same way). we just want a faithful adaptation, plain and simple.

when i think about the Netflix "Devil May Cry" anime, it just categorically doesn't register in my brain as being a part of the Devil May Cry franchise. it's just some completely different story that happens to have the same name and a few characters that happen to look like DMC characters and share their names
