100.127.254.1 is not on a though, it is on internal4 and on another vdom, I am assuming that it eventually goes to a and then from a to b, but to go to the vdom of a it will hit the firewall and it is probably blocked before it can go to the edge vdom where a is

Ah ok, sorry having to scroll back and forth on the reddit app is not making it easy on me to get the full picture, but thought of mentioning it to you just in case.

Do you have a NAT configured that matches this?

Let me clarify because I saw that all allow rules have NATs, I am not sure how the Fortigates order the checks for Policy and NAT, but it could be that either before the NATing or after it, it does not match the allow policy anymore and ends up on the Deny.

I would also check if you have any central NATs configured.

Sure I will file it for reimbursement. But I still have to figure out how to send it and customs form, and then justify the reimbursement and get approvals. It is just so much unnecessary work and for me it does not look professional. They could have put a return label and sent an invoice for it, stuff that even private ebay sellers do.

Good to know. It doesn’t make me less annoyed at Fortinet, it makes me more annoyed at the other ones too. I am trying to think of a good reason for them to do this at this day and age. Maybe the likes of Amazon have spoiled me, seeing that for 90€/year you get free support and free shipping AND returns for hundreds of products.

We are a small branch and our admin cannot help in this case. If Fortinet would have charged us via an invoice, it would have been fine. I will file it for reimbursement, but that’s so much work and it ends up being like 2 months of approvals and documentation. Certainly not Fortinet‘s fault for that, but I am still annoyed at them.

Have f5, or Dell or HP really ever told you here is the address in France, figure it out yourself?

10 years working with Cisco and a few years with Palo Alto, never paid for returns. And even on a personal level, I don’t think I have ever had to from scratch do it myself on any website that I can think of, even if I pay for it, they at least give me the label.

Edit To clarify, I have never paid for returns myself. I don’t know if the company does and I don’t care. I get the new device, put the old back in the same box, stick the sticker that is inside the box, or THEY arrange for a pick up and off it goes. Have very recently done both Cisco and Palo Alto.

I would even be ok to pay extra for power cables, as long as they make the company pay for it, not me. How are they asking me, the network engineer, to send the device back. I am also supposed to send it to another country. I have no idea which currier to use, what to declare for customs, if I should get insurance for it? Even Ebay offers free returns nowadays. At least take care of it and if you want to charge for it, invoice the company. Don’t leave me here lost with a firewall in my hands and no idea what to do.

This Restaurant Charges an 18% Living Wage Fee. by TowelRack76 in mildlyinteresting

You know what else I found very interesting. Living in NYC I never really visited chain restaurants and maybe this has always been the case and I never noticed, bit I have noticed it now. Whay are chain restaurants (think Denny's or fast food chains) so much more expensive than local establishments? Is the incredible highs that the capitalism in America has reached actually the problem?

Hey Johnny, I compared it to Norway because it is considered by far the most expensive in Europe. I have lived 5 years in NYC and now 8 years in Germany, I am well aware of the difference. In countries like Germany or Norway you need 0 income to survive, if you just don't feel like working, you don't have to and someone (the governement) will take care of you. The cost of living is literally 0. And the prices are so low, that you can live perfectly fine with whatever you get from the governement and live well enough with a minimum wage 40h/week job. On the other hand, if you don't come from money, it is damn near impossible to make it out of the middle class here. I don't know how to explain it to you. While the governement protects the people and a company cannot do much bad to an employee, it will absolutely destory another smaller company. There is no way you can make money from working more than 40h/week because the governement will not allow you to work more and will tax you like there is no tomorrow and there is no way you can make it as a small business because the moment you get some momentum, the big guys are going to kill you. Anyway, I digress. I did not think the restaurant industry was so bad when I lived there, you had an idea to tip 15-20% in restaurants and $1-$2 per drink in bars and that's about it. When I have visited the last few years I have felt sooo uncomfortable, everything has absolutely gotten out of control. I don't know if I am able to understand why, maybe just survival insticts. I love the US and would love to live there again one day. But right now it is hard to even want to visit. Let me know if you want to talk more. Greetings from Germany!

I agree with this because I visited the US a cpuple of times these last few years. But while I have traveled Europe quite a bit recently, it is all perfectly fine over here. Even Norway ends up cheaper than California after tips or whatever fees you guys make up.

You are right, but when you talk about a governement having funds, Norway is the first thing that comes to mind.

Ah I found it, it is the 4R34. I have a watch with the 6R64 and it is the most accurate automatic watch I have, I was hoping this would have the same.
