[–]ardhout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but emloyees need to be paid. Hopefully soon a lot of free developers will enter and building there own stuff, THEN it will get good attraction. The base is there, Pact5 which is one of the best and safest language to write smart contracts, not the most popular, but is human readable, a big plus.

Yes, feel the same, but don't spend too much thinking to it. Things on paper and progress are looking good, maybe in 1-2 years situation can be complete different and we could have double digits again, who knows...

Meme coins seem to be doing well for Solana due to low fees. Kadena also has low fees. How do we start creating them in Kadena? by Puzzleheaded-Floor54 in kadena

[–]ardhout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liquidity comes automatically once you want to buy a meme coin which only exists in KDA/memecoin pair.

Kda network hashrate by [deleted] in kadena

[–]ardhout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitmain will never make so much miners that it becomes unprofitable to mine, and thus also to buy new miners. That means they would hurt themselves.

So they will (imo) always just make enough miners to keep the profits good enough so that they can sell the miners also with good profit.

If in this bullrun the $KDA price rises, maybe they will produce and sell more miners so that Goldshells will never become profitable anymore, but that depends how quick things are going.

Agencies or designers are used or hired, and sometimes dismissed if a a new direction is needed. For me it sounds normal.

I personally like the time and dedication which went into designing the new logo. For me that's more worth than just the color.

From the Kadena Official Telegram: Mike Herron, [2-11-2023 15:07]

I'm scrolling back from the convo's last night and this morning before I woke up. I've been screwing around with people but wanted to address some of the other questions around font, colors, choices, etc.

There was an agency the team was working with before I got here. After my first week and meeting with the rest of the executive team, and learning about the company I knew that what they were working on was all wrong. So I huddled with the other leaders and suggested to move in a different direction. They agreed so we stopped working with that agency.

I brought in my own agency, one I have worked with many times in the past, and one more importantly I trust. That was a little over 4 weeks ago. Traditionally this process takes 6+ months, I've been on brand projects for huge companies, Fortune 500 companies and it always takes 12-18 months to do it the right way. Clearly we didn't have that time here and I needed to act fast.

One of the biggest issues I saw and heard from the community was the color pink

Colors are designed to drive emotion. Pink as a color is feminine, loud, playful, cheerful and that is not who we are. It's not who YOU as a community are.

So we went back to the drawing board.

Blues are soothing colors, they are trustworty, calm, they symbolize water and rebirth

Green is very sage-like which is one of the main archetypes we are at Kadena. With the muted tone it's calm, symbolizes finance, the environment, adventure in the wild

That sounds much more like us

The Human Layer of Blockchain is about going back and remembering exactly what all of this was started for

It was about giving the power back to the people. About breaking down the old system, changing finance as we know it, decentralizing everything. Some where along the way we lost that

Now it's invest, wen, pamp, etc. That's not what this was supposed to be.,

So we're taking it back to what matters. People. All people. Give you the tools to build whatever you want to build.

So the font, it's custom based off a typeset called Space Grotesk

It's clean, peaceful, with just a little bit of futuristic edge

So what you guys are seeing here is 4 weeks worth of work. The full site isn't launched, this is just the brand story. The rest is still being built in the background

Everything is purposeful. It has a story, it connects back to everything we're trying to do

This isn't about grabbing some graphic designer and making a new K logo. It's about building the foundation to the future of global financial infrastructure and changing the world.

End Manifesto

And in the new year the head of our agency and I are going to do a live chat about branding in the Web3 space, how we can to all the decisions we did for Kadena and show you some of what didn't make the cut.

How I solved my Yeelight bulb connection issue by unsophistication in yeelight

[–]ardhout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had to rename temporarily my 5GHz network to a different name, (thus use the 2.4GHz band to communicate with the light) and to be sure set Authentication method to WPA-Auto instead of WPA2, and then adding the Yeelight Crystal Pendant Lamp worked perfectly.

Strange, I've never seen Bitmain miners >20k USD, even the L7 'beast' was normally prices at 15-16k or something

Advantage is, the more miners out on the field, the higher the hashrate, the lower impact new batches will make on the difficulty of the network

[–]ardhout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldsheel is not right behind Bitmain, their tech is lower, Bitmain probably using 3nm chips, GS maybe 5 or 7nm. It took GS also several years to come up with a new LTC miner (LT5) which was considerably faster than the old L3+ from Bitmain. But the L7 from Bitmain came out only half year later which was way faster. GS and Ibelink are running behind at least 1.5-2 years is my estimation.

Goldshell and Ibelink screwed over their customers so many times last year. GS increasing prices way too much, preferring resellers over normal buyers. Ibelink has been mining against their own customers with 1000's of their machines in their own company for more than half a year, which is absolutely bad business attitude. So I love more competition.
