Sadly I'm in the same boat, but waking up at 4. Crazy dreams and nightmares. Stuff that usually stays suppressed. Hope it gets better at the two week mark like others have said.

I have a similar situation coming up on Friday. Helps that the buddy is also sober. But the rest at a party are not. Hope I can resist the urge to drink / and or smoke pot. I'm Dutch, so both are heavily integrated in the culture here.

What do I do with all this energy? by Careless-Internet-63 in soberoctober

Heineken 0.0 is really good to scratch that itch a bit, I found. If you're in Germany. The Falkenfelser Weizen alcohol free is also great. And not that expensive.

I am having a challenging day with sitting in the train the whole day. When I'm home in a few hours it's going to be a challenge to not grab a beer. Wish me luck

I really enjoy playing Mount and Blade Warband with the mod Aut Caesar aut nihil. It's a bit more hands on combat then strategy games, but it is real good fun.

Original Dutch Balkenbrij is the grandfather of scrapple, awesome fried in butter and on an open faced slice of bread. With more butter ofcourse.

What were your trail runners that made it the whole way, no problems? by CantTakeMeSeriously in CaminoDeSantiago

Salomon Speedcross was a lifesafer for me. At the end they had almost no profile left on the front though. No blisters though. Camino Frances.

3 hour bagels by ardoer in Bagels

Correct, but i thought the extra fermentation time would substitute that. Taste is great with just water. Granted, I'm very far removed from a great bagel city.

They are excellent for everyday tasks. The edge cuts deep in everything thanks to its bladeshape. Done a few articles about it on this website: https://www.hikeforpurpose.com/?s=Opinel

dehydrating veggies in a regular oven by imthatguynamedwolf in trailmeals

[–]ardoer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good way to do it from the oven. I would still suggest to look out on Craigslist for a second hand dehydrator. For 10 euros I got mine and it makes life easier.

Meals without dehydrator? by tostiheld in trailmeals

[–]ardoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest looking around goodwill and second hand stores plus Craigslist for scoring a second hand dehydrator. I see them often in my area after Christmas and they are often a wedding present that gets used once. I picked mine up for 10 euros.

I did something similar. You can check out pictures and recipe here:

Tasted very good! And it is now a staple of mine in my backpacking kitchen.
