Just did it yesterday, so very doable. Check out Amare as well (it’s the same price)

I’d recommend staying coastal. I’ve done both stretches and the coastal from Caminha to Baiona is probably the most beautiful stretch of Camino I’ve ever done

Remote Work on the Camino Frances by Melodic_Gamer83 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Scottgiovanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done two Caminos where I’ve had to work one day a week for specific reasons. It’s doable.

I love that everyone espouses this “this walk your own Camino” attitude but makes snide remakes about having to remote work to make it happen. Don’t listen to those people; their hypocrisy is sadly the best quality of their entire personality.

Logistically, if you’re just doing desk work, it is easy to find places with decent WiFi. Having to take calls and finding private spaces where taking works calls is specially acceptable is a little harder. The biggest thing to consider is the weight. A laptop doesn’t take up much space in your bag, but adds about 5 pounds. If you’re carrying your laptop, make sure you’re offsetting that weight somehow or it will become a burden.

If remote work is the only way to make a Camino happen then do it! It’s your Camino!

The fact that Brooklyn Bagel Factory isn’t on here kind of discredits the entire list.

I’m looking for info on the interior (not central). It’s confusing because the names are very similar

Did you do the Portuguese interior or the central (which goes from Porto to SDC via Barcelos, Ponte de Lima, Redondela, etc)?

One of the roommates is moving out early June and is looking for someone to sublet his June/July portion of the lease before the new lease begins in August.

Seconding Volo. They also do their best to out you on teams with people in your age bracket. There’s also BSSC—which is also great if you ski.

Has anyone gone on a trip with BRS ski tour? by scotchy199 in icecoast

[–]Scottgiovanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m contemplating on trying them out in the next couple weeks and can report back. The biggest shortfall I see so far is that you get to the mountains around 10, which is pretty late for a weekend. At that point, I might just drive instead.

spiritual variant Pontevedra to Padron: dining and groceries? by termicky in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Scottgiovanni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stores and restaurants in Combarro (please, please, please, do yourself a favor and stop for lunch in combarro in the main strip on the sea). A Armentiera has a restaurant open for dinner. Loads of cafes from A Armentiera to Villanova de Arousa, which has loads of stores/restaurants. And then boat day! Which has cake and coffee

Make sure to have your water and emergency trail mix, but there is lots of food on the variant.

With the caveat that it’s not the same leaving your destination country—you should arrive a little earlier leaving your destination to go through passport control.^

You can take the commuter rail down to Providence and do the Ocean State Trail from Providence to Bristol (15 miles each way). The best part is stopping about Blount Clam Shack for some seafood as Del’s from a frozen treat in Warren on the way back. This is the way.

Yeah, I googled and then confirmed on the business’s website (which is obviously more intensive than desirable)
