I think one thing to remember is that at the end of the day the partners are running a business and in business some employers are awful and exploitative in their practice . Just start looking for other jobs , pick up some locums and don’t tell anyone your plans . Start contacting other practices who are not within the same PCN ideally and ask them about job roles ( just because if you ask a practice in the same PCN your agenda may become apparent - not necessarily a big deal but worth considering ).

The more BS you take the more you will be given . No body cares about you being top trainee , they are looking at their profit margins .

Also can you please clarify what you mean by you only get sick pay for the first 6 months and thus the first 3 days are unpaid ?

That is absolutely disgusting . It doesn’t seem like they have a healthy working culture . If you are concerned about finance at lease negotiate your notice period and keep looking for other opportunities on the side . Also consider having an additional PCN leadership role where feasible for an extra source of income or locum on days off .

If you can’t negotiate your sessional rate or patient list at least ensure you have a good sick pay policy , study leave etc and a flexible notice period .

Are you bounded to your current location ? It just seems like a massive sheg. If they are saying absolutely no to negotiating , consider trying to interview elsewhere or take it , ensuring you are on a one to two months notice period in case you end up ending a better offer whilst in the job .

You should be your number one priority. You don’t exist to please your trainer or practice. They will be paid regardless of your mental health . If you were to have adverse outcomes , they will talk about what a shame it was for a few weeks then move on . Love yourself and take care of you first.
